  1. ^ this. Managing a players confidence shouldn't include putting him into a situation with high probability of failure in a crucial spot in a crucial game when better options exist. 4 run leads with these offenses in our park can evaporate very quickly.
  2. When he threw his slider last night it was really effective. I cant help but think if he throws that filthy change down to Bradley Jr with 2 strikes instead of yet another FB, he would be heading back the dugout instead of touching them all. Bird hit a decent FB....middle but at least it was down. Tip your cap on that one.
  3. Totally agree and that's fair. But c'mon. In that situation last night we cant afford to play shrink with Sanchez when we have better options.
  4. Yes...a month ago. The sinker is a stinker. The solution is simple.
  5. Same thing I thought when I saw title and that it was a poll lol. It's some stellar trolling. If it was Martin or McCaan it would be a lot harder to answer.
  6. Everyone is beat up now. We lose Tulo. Yanks lose Tex. Thier pen's best arms are over used. Tanaka misses a start. Edwins finger throbs every swing and miss. The way I see it this is a war of attrition and adversity and we will see what our guys are made of.
  7. 1. All teams/players are tired. Guys have slumps in May and now....doesn't matter. That's why guys like Bird or Pompey can be used to provide some jump or replace for injury 2. Imagine how Betances feels if you are worried about over use of Osuna. He does have to hit his spots and change speeds more. 3. Sanchez is what he always was/is. He just needs to be used in the properly.
  8. I don't really care much about the individual awards but its kind of interesting to see that these 2 are in a WAR dead heat now. Not that the voters will base the winner on WAR. JD is struggling some with Trout rebounding. Was bound to happen.
  9. Me too. I know every team is missing key player(s) but can you imagine this team with Tulo and Travis (Goins off the bench) with Stro back? Dare to dream.
  10. Agree on all but the Navarro tag. I agree with L54 on that one. I watched in on replay a few times, and was listening to Joe Sidall talk about short hops at the dish. Pillar was deep for a throw on a sac fly so I don't fault him on the arm. The pick was do or die for Navvy at full speed on a short hop. He didn't pick it but that's a very tough bang bang play.
  11. I'm still praying...living in my own naïve bubble of optimism on this one. We are a much better team overall with Tulo @ SS and Goins(or better yet Travis, but that dog ain't gonna hunt - 2015) than we are with Goins and Penny/Barney @ 2B.
  12. Saw it. Was surprised he wasn't run. CC hangin in there
  13. The alleged facts that he was an excellent hockey player and also that he punched a ref do not surprise me at all.
  14. Yup. smashed glasses and broken scapula's from the ol bar scraps.
  15. We are a better team with Tulo at SS and Goins (even better with Travis) @ 2B. Tulo is a major presence in our line up on both sides of the ball. We lost Tulo and gained Stro. Nothing we can do about it. At the end of the day a healthy, effective Stro is probably worth more than Tulo if we make it beyond a WC game.
  16. Lots go Smoakie!!
  17. This is a one run game and isn't over. I just don't get all these guys calling it over since the top of the 8th.
  18. That's true. It was do or die. But it long way out for Pillar on a sac fly and it was as good a throw as I expected.
  19. Great throw by Pillar. Panda was DOA if Navvy picks it. Lets go Jays.....comeback!
  20. Get the epipen ready. With our luck today he is allergic.
  21. Trust in Lowe. This is what we brought him here for.
  22. You have to play for the now.....the move to Cecil with 3 tough LHH coming up was the right one....even if it didn't/doesn't work out.
  23. Nails. Touched 96 with the FB and then Ks him with unhittable filth.
  24. Holy f*** Cecil with that curve....they know its coming and just haven't been able to hit it.
  25. His line without the plays we(he) didn't make would be very good. Penny blowing that DP throw isn't an E but cost us 2 runs. Goins almost came up with ball to his left that led off that inning. We are kicking it around.
