  1. Needs to cut down on strikeouts...4-1 k/BB ratio
  2. I've been against Gibby as manager since he came back. Team spent big and was projected as playoff favorites back in 2006-08 era. Same as now....his team underachieves. There were always incidents with players back then on how he handled them. He just doesn't get the most out of his players. Too many players have fell flat to be a fluke. Johnson, Morrow, Bonifacio, Izthus, Cabrera, Romero, Arencibia all are having terrible years.
  3. Stroman must know they are protecting his arm. It's for his best interest. After all the arm troubles Jays had in recent years...not like it isn't obvious. Plus, they would waste another spot on the 40 this winter. If Jays were in pennant race be more incentive for them to rush a good arm. But why this year?
  4. His play went south shortly after signing a large contract.
  5. Goins make better shortstop where his defense is solid
  6. Morneau could hit 30 homers at Rogers, with better glove than Lind
  7. I wouldn't make a rash of changes this winter. Except for catcher, put help there, rest stays relatively same. I think this team may semi-gel if they can stay healthy. At least keep them around .500 at all-star break. Then we have a more clear picture what team needs.
  8. I wouldn't use up a slot on the 40 for Stroman this winter. He never pitched much last year and 100 innings this year is most he should be stretched out. Jays have blew out too many arms in recent years by rushing them to big leagues before their arm was build up.
  9. Bon playing in KC like the guy we thought we were getting from Miami. Example of Gibby not getting the best out of his players
  10. Small sample size....after a month in the big leagues everybody thought Travis Snider was going to be the next Tony Gwynn also. Wait til the scouts find his weakness and if they can't exploit them or can Goins adjust.
  11. If he can stay healthy will be Lawrie's challenge. McGowan once had better stuff than Halladay but injuries cut him down.
  12. He must just pitch well against the Yamkees
  13. TDA will end up better catcher but not as good as many think. Then injuries could derail him.
  14. We were expected to win in either 2007 or 2009 also but injuries was ridicously high. Especially in starting pitching. Where at one point we lost our whole staff. If I remember right we lost Marcum, McGowan, Litsch, Ryan all the same year. Last year we lost Hutch and Drabek in back-to-back starts. However, I don't know why high injury problems keeps recurring here. Is Farrell right in our player development? Is it our medical staff? Is it playing on turf? Or combination of these? I don't know
  15. Stroman or Nolin not ready. Don't want to do another Hutchinson 2.0. Where they rushed a good young arm to majors before he was stretched out. Then blew his arm out by years end. In 2012 Jays should have developed Hutch up to 180 innings or so in minors then bring him up mid-season 2013. Nolin closer than Stroman because Stroman really has thrown many innings. He was shutdown most of last year. He's not ready for prime time. Sept. 2014 be earliest like to see Stroman here. There's no rush...this team gong no-where.
  16. Gibbons clubs generally don't play well as a team. Same as when he was here before. Like the other day Lawrie sacrifice bunting with 2 hitters coming up who hitting around Mendoza line. Lawrie was red hot at time. Or Davis getting picked off 2b with Encarnacion at the plate. Been like that all year. Team is not mentally prepared. He's not the best of motivator
  17. Think Riccardi could have played a role in Dickey lopsided trade as he knew Anthopoulos and his weakness?
  18. I have my doubts Jays will contend in 2014. They need too much, a catcher, 2 starting pitchers, 2b and possibly a lf. According to what Cabrera shows up next year. Most of Toronto's roster is injury prone. It would be amazing story if Jays in pennant race next year. AA has so many bad back-loaded contracts and no farm system left to trade for immediate help. I can't see how he can do it.
  19. I think Jays had to go all in last winter...I mean 19 years not even being on outskirts of a pennant race? At some point you have to put your best forward to keep fan interest. However, Anthopoulos made some puzzling moves. Some of his moves were not well thought out. Like Dickey trade or taking on players who failed miserably in similar stint with Miami just a season before.
  20. Have no trouble watching the Red Sox...but the Rays are boring extraordinaire. I can't imagine paying to watch them play
  21. Think we may have something in Todd Redmond? A capable 5th starter for next year? He's pitched 2 decent games back to back against 2 good clubs.
  22. I'm glad we don't have to play Tampa again. Those are the most boring games. Now I know why they have attendance problems. How can you get excited watching foul ball after foul ball trying to run up the pitch count.
  23. I don't think anybody was complaining about his attitude....he just needed to tone it down a little. Over aggressive will lead to injuries
  24. Jays are 11 games under .500 with Reyes at short....3 games OVER .500 with Kawasaki at short. Statistics can't lie!
  25. Dickey hasn't been that bad away from Rogers. I think he is pitching in wrong park. But yeah, he still paid way too much for Dickey.
