    I agree ... although I expect the starting pitcher that he claims/trades for will be much better than a #5/6

    I don't think the Yankees will be able to bid on Guerrero Jr since he cannot be signed until July 2 ... the Yankees since they overspent their 2014-2015 international pool will be restricted to something like $300k

    Why would KC do this trade? Trading their closer, a very good one at that, for a B-level prospect ... including Infante does not decrease Holland's value since like you said Infante is still good and his contract is not bad. This trade would never happen ... KC will only trade Holland or Davis if they are getting an A-level prospect I hope AA does not go this route ... trading an A-level prospect like Sanchez or Norris for a reliever

    The deadline for teams to submit a bid is this Friday at 5:00pm et ... this is the posting fee paid to the Japanese team I think the team with the winning bid then has 30 days to negotiate a contract with Kang

    No matter what team signed Cabrera the Jays would be getting a sandwich pick between the 1st and 2nd round

    It looks like Boston is sending 2 prospects to Detroit as well so that could even out the trade

    I totally agree ... Jays should not give up an top pitching prospect like Osuna for a fringe part-time player who had one good year

    We must be talking about a different Valbuena ... the Jays already had Luis Valbuena on their roster in November/2011 but decided he wasn't worth keeping and the Cubs claimed him in April/2012

    Agreed ... does not make sense to trade one of our best pitching prospects for a guy who has had one good year (2014) at age 28

    I totally agree ... but combined Miller + Robertson will probably get ~ 22M per year but only for 4 years

    I think he meant Miller and Robertson for 26M per year for 5 years ... same as Lester

    With the Jays now having only 36 players on their 40-man roster I wonder: 1) If they have players they plan to pick up in the Rule 5 draft or 2) What players non-tendered a contract that they are interested in ... E.Cabrera, Beckham, Blanks, Medlen, Beachy, Ogando

    I think teams that really need a s/s, like the Yankees, Dodgers and A's might be interested in Cabrera ... hence the Jays will not get him cheap

    I would love Hamels ... his contract is very reasonable (2015 to 2018 at 23.5M/year + club option for 2019) compared to what the big 3 free agent S/Ps ... Scherzer will probably get 27M+/year for 7 yrs, Lester will get something like 25M/year for say 6 yrs and Shields will get 20-22M/year for say 5 years. I think these 3 guys are too expensive for Toronto I also think Hamels is better than Lester, possibly similar to Scherzer But a trade for Hamels would be very costly in terms of prospects ... Sanchez + Norris as a starting point ... But I am pretty sure I read Philly wants a top positon player as part of any deal and Toronto does not have one I think Boston will end up getting Hamels if they are willing to include Betts in the deal

    Why? I think Boston's plan is to have Bogaerts play s/s, Sandoval at 3rd and Ramirez in the o/f, probably L/F

    Could the Jays send Tellez to Vancouver for the playoffs? What are the rules for moving minor league players for the playoffs?

    Does anyone know the status of Max Pentecost? He last played on August 7 and I believe was being sent to Florida for an injury evaluation

    I have a feeling when Reimold is healthy and ready to come off the DL the Jays will not chance losing him by sending him to the minors so they will keep him on the 25 man roster There could be some interesting roster decisions once EE, Lind, Lawrie and Reimold are activated I am guessing EE and Lind will be activated first and Rasmussen and Francisco will be sent to minors ... Francisco may not clear waivers When Lawrie is activated I think Kawasaki will be sent to minors but I am not sure what happens when Reimold is activated ... Gose back to minors I guess

    I think we may already have a platoon partner for Lind and our 4th outfielder ... Reimold

    I think Detroit would be very hestitant to trade Catellanos but a trade for Smyly is something I have thought about for awhile Perhaps Janssen + prospect for Smyly ... I would include Bonifacio or possibly Gose, if that is what is needed to make a deal
