  1. Maybe a city should build a stadium a mile below sea level. All the best pitchers will flock there.
  2. Pillar leading off, even a spring training game, is giving me an ominous and uneasy feeling.
  3. I just did a little research and apparently the 'v' stands for 'vision', which after doing a little more research, is what we use for seeing things. Gotta love subtle references!
  4. Saunders is paralyzed from the neck after a horrific roof accident during the last game of spring training. He makes a miraculous return in September and becomes the first ever pinch hitter to earn a complete game in the postseason. During an uneventful game in April, an awkward slide by Tulo into 2nd causes Dan Shulman to blow out his vocal chords. He returns later in the summer but it seems like he's never quite the same. During a thrilling pennant race late in September, Kevin Pillar disappears over the center field fence to rob what would be Arod's 763rd home run. After several minutes of play, it becomes obvious that Kevin isn't returning. The ball shows up on eBay a few months later from a mystery account and Kevin is never seen or heard from again.
  5. Jeff Blair. Should I even bother reading it?
  6. This is like your childhood sweetheart telling you you'll stay a couple this summer but she's planning on f***ing other guys starting next year.
  7. I don't see how a player can "not allow" a counter offer. What's stopping FO from saying "how about 5/110"? Does he just cover his ears and go lalalalala?
  8. Dressing like a pimp doesn't make up for a complete lack of personality. Believe me, I know first hand.
  9. Seems like an extreme leg kick would generate more power at the cost of accuracy.
  10. I've used heavy cream (35%) in my coffee for years. Most people don't realize it's lactose-free, unlike milk or half-and-half. Easy on the stomach, and the appetite suppression is a bonus.
  11. A lot of things went wrong last year as well. And by "things" I mean one run games. If the jays have just an average Pythagorean record in 2016, instead of the bottom-three-in-mlb 2015, that's an extra 8 to 10 wins right there.
  12. So instead of him being a free agent after 2018, now he'll be one after 2017? Someone explain why I should be happy, thanks.
  13. Is this the guy that was #1 in major league history?
  14. Probably. I saw his quote and I really don't see how it's any different than David Price saying "yeah, absolutely" when a reporter asked him if he wants to stay in Toronto. Maybe Bautista's comment is stronger, but it's equally noncommittal. What he's really saying is "I would prefer if it were the Blue Jays that won the bidding for me."
  15. Yeah, lineups are SUPPOSED to be top heavy, not "balanced" like it's a goddamned seesaw. Seriously we knew this in the 1800s. Even an infant would understand the logic of this. So why not sports writers and managers?
  16. Wow. Someone remind me to never joke about my penis around here.
  17. I seem to remember Gibbons or someone else saying they wouldn't use that field anymore.
  18. Always seemed to be a clutch performer though. Am I wrong?
  19. Could be 20 of muscle, 5 of fat. Often when people say "of muscle" it's just a casual way of saying "and most of it is muscle". Even if true, it remains to be seen whether it actually helps in any way. Bulking up is great for power hitters. Not so much for pitchers. Bench press work is known to reduce throwing velocity. Pitchers getting into shape usually involves stretching, mobility and flexibility work, core and lower body strength, balance and repetition, learning new pitches, and sports psychology. If he put that much effort into simply becoming a sexy beast then I have to wonder how much time he spent, you know, actually becoming a better pitcher.
  20. No I don't, lol. f*** I'm so sick of society and this pussy ass bubble wrap helicopter parent mentality that just seems to be spreading untreated like cancer.
  21. Another great example of how useless teachers are and how useful they think they actually are. Playground supervisor, Jesus Christ. And I'm a female body inspector, give me money.
  22. Lol "education index". I wonder who gets paid to come up with these indexes and by whom. The US where in Burger King they have pictures on cash registers instead of words because most of their employees can't read. You're darn right it's complete BS. And as for scandanavia having "very privatized" education, lol. Just lol. That's like saying USA has "very privatized" healthcare, which it most certainly does not.
  23. Underfunded my ass. Education has never had more money thrown at it than it does today. The problem is that very little of this massive over-funding translates to actual learning because of the gigantic parasite that public education has become. Far too much money spent on sweetheart pension deals, useless administration, and exorbitant field trips and summer camps that have virtually no educational value. Public education is a failed experiment, simple as that. The only solution at this point is to blow up the whole system and start over from scratch. A complete de-funding of all education and a return of taxes to families to spend as they see fit. Only then will education improve or become cheaper. Unfortunately none of this will happen until a massive sovereign debt crisis ala Greece hits us.
