  1. People keep saying this. Yet it seems like Edwin, Martin, Donaldson, Tulo argue with the ump just as often if not more so. I think people are just remembering how Bautista acted 2 years ago and fail to realize how dramatically he's toned it down.
  2. Stroman>Dickey>Kawasaki>>>Price>Edwin>Buehrle>Revere>Martin>Osuna>Colabello>Bautista>>>>>Navarro>Goins>Estrada>Pillar>Smoak Really there are no bad personalities on this team. Just a few piles of cold mashed potatoes is the worst you can say.
  3. Nah, blue jays play terrible when their backs aren't against the wall. This will be another 2004 alcs.
  4. But at least that's not MLB raping them. That's just because of the way the regular season, all star game, and other ALDS series played out. It could just as easily have been the other way around.
  5. If it's any consolation, those are the only two games for the rest of the playoffs where the jays get schedule-raped. Two out of a potential fourteen.
  6. People talk about how scary the cubs are, and to that I agree, but the jays are still scarier.
  7. This was true even with the final 7 teams.
  8. What do you think? I think this is the best possible final 4 as far as the Blue Jays are concerned.
  9. Absolutely selfish and stupid. The baby gets nothing positive out of the experience. It's all about mommy needing to be special and important and posting pictures on Facebook so she can make her mommy friends jealous.
  10. Not true. If you have 2 dice and I have one, I have a small but sizeable chance of rolling a higher number than you and beating you. But over a "season" of 100 rolls, it's absolutely statistically impossible for me to beat you. So yes, smaller sample sizes do indeed favor the underdog.
  11. I just realized, of the 7 teams remaining the blue jays are the most recent world series winners.
  12. I'd rather have home games played on the weekend and not during the freaking work day for once.
  13. If they lose game 3 then I definitely think they're done. Would be pretty hard to bounce back from that.
  14. Price already had 11 days rest and he didn't throw very many pitches anyway in game 1. So it's probably the equivalent of regular rest anyway. And what are you going to do? Skip him in game 5 as well? You can say what you want about his stats, but if you're going to put him in game 5 then you might as well put him in game 4.
  15. This is the one way that this can work out. Blue Jays team sleeps off the loss and wakes up resigned to their fate. They get a full day and a half to detense and think about what could have been. Come Sunday night, with the grieving phase over, and all expectation of success long forgotten, and nobody able to be the hero any longer, they focus on the one and only thing they can to finish the season. And that is to get one last quality AB in, one last quality inning, in other words play the way they needed to play but couldn't in game 2. With the pressure completely off and the team fully expecting to go home Sunday night, they string together a series of quality ABs. Suddenly a big inning comes out of nowhere, and the Blue Jays not expecting this at all, realize they might get to play a 4th game after all. And just like that, every player on the team feels like a pimp, and if nothing else, feels that this game is theirs. Then with Price in game 4 and Stroman in game 5, the story pretty much writes itself from that point. Really when you think about it, winning the next game pretty much guarantees them a WS win.
  16. Dunno I think roof closed for day games is more "playoffey" than open. Then again I'm stuck with audio+gameday so not like my opinion even counts for 1.
  17. Now would be a good time to get hat elusive third 11 game winning streak of the year.
  18. Come on, is nobody else rooting for the yanks? You've got to appreciate the Jays chances against them. The Astros are underrated.
  19. Speaking strictly as a fan who only gives a crap about one thing: Jays in the world series... GO YANKEES
  20. I'm actually looking forward to watching a broadcasts that knows how to do instant replay, heck even show the play currently underway. It has to be at least 20 times each game where Sportsnet simply does not show a pickoff attempt, a check swing side view, the location of a disputed strike, or even a half-decent angle on a fair/foul call. It's truly a minor league level broadcast, has been since 1999. But at least it's improved from A ball to triple-A quality.
  21. Though to be clear, Sportsnet will carry it, but it will be the FOX broadcasts.
  22. I assume you just had a brain fart here and you aren't actually working on Thanksgiving day.
  23. If the blue jays want prime time TV spots, they just need to advance in the playoffs. It's as simple as that. Rooting for the Yankees is something to consider as well.
