  1. Game #29 Toronto Blue Jays (Ray) @ Oakland Athletics (Bassitt) Schedule | Standings | FanGraphs | News | Video | Spotlight | Twitter | Reddit | Instagram
  2. It's actually a four game series, I made a mistake in the titling of these threads. Can you change the "GDT (1/3)" thread title to "GDT (1/4)" and the same for this thread from 2/3 to 2/4? I knew this was a four game series too, not sure why I wrote 1/3 in the first place. Must have copied the title from the previous series and forgot to change that bit.
  3. Not gonna lie, I'm pretty proud of today's GDT gifs, lol. Got lucky with finding GIFs of similar angles on two different home run shots, just had to trim down the Olson one to match the length on the Bichette clip. As always, I'll update the main post with lineups when they're out.

  5. That was the most obvious 3-up-3-down of all time.
  6. How has Atkins still not taken the decision of using Panik out of Montoyo's hands by just releasing him?
  7. I hate waiting all day for the game but once it actually gets near game time, it's kind of charming watching baseball so late at night.
  8. It's funny I mentioned this in another thread less than an hour ago but Arden Zwelling is an excellent Blue Jays storyteller and he dropped a new "Big Read" today on Marcus Semien's return to the Bay Area for tonight's series against the Athletics: Homecoming https://www.sportsnet.ca/mlb/longform/going-back-oakland-means-new-blue-jay-marcus-semien/
  9. Stephen Brunt is excellent. I was thinking of him while I wrote that post as one of the examples of a legitimately good journalist in Toronto. Sportsnet has a lot of good people. For strictly Blue Jays content, Arden Zwelling is an excellent storyteller too. Anyone who regularly shows up in Sportsnet's "Big Reads" section is generally pretty good. The Jays also have solid reporters in Davidi and BNS. It's just their consistent on-air talent that's complete ass.
  10. Game #27 Toronto Blue Jays (Matz) @ Oakland Athletics (Montas) Schedule | Standings | FanGraphs | News | Video | Spotlight | Twitter | Reddit | Instagram
  11. I can't call the Morales signing one of the worst in franchise history because it directly lead to getting Gurriel on an insane contract. It also resulted in/coincided with them pulling out on Edwin, which netted them the compensation pick that got them Nate Pearson. The Morales signing was s*** in a vacuum but it was really good for the franchise overall, from a butterfly effect perspective.
  12. Does anyone see Springer in the dugout? I'm hoping the last-second alert from Montoyo on the Panik substitution means he's just taking a s*** or something.
  13. How are major league baseball players so bad at making simple throws from 30-50 feet?
  14. Perspective on just how much of a heart-attack that Acuna sac-fly really was. 109.8 mph exit velocity, 23 degree launch angle, 394 feet with a .990 expected batting average. A bomb that just completely died at the warning track and saved the Jays from giving up 4 runs with one pitch.
  15. Borucki giving me memories of those trash Rembrandt commercials. Absolutely dealing.
  16. Buck trying his hardest to get Ozuna another hit against a lefty.
  17. Some more Braves subreddit content from throughout the game:
  18. If this is just who Vladdy is now, it's pretty nice to have prime Jose Bautista back on the Blue Jays.
  19. Absolutely not. He's coming into his own as an incredible defensive player at a new position, all while endearing himself to fans and other players around the league as the new mayor at first base. There's nobody on this team that has the flexibility he's displaying on picks and likely nobody with his vertical range on bad throws. That's important on a team with terrible arms at 3B and SS. I'm also a big believer in having players as comfortable as possible. A long time ago I was one of the biggest proponents on here for moving Edwin Encarnacion off 3rd base because I believed his defensive woes were negatively impacting his offense. Whether or not that was true with Edwin and whether or not it could be true with Vlad, I would not mess with something that is absolutely working in every facet at the moment.
