  1. If a big league manager in 2021 is dumb enough to bunt with 2-strikes, they likely don't posses the critical thinking ability to suddenly reflect, realize that's a s*** play and completely change how they manage those situations. Chances are far higher that they'll find someone else to blame and go on with business as usual, which is what happened here. I don't blame Montoyo for being a f***ing troglodyte with an underdeveloped brain. I blame Atkins and Shapiro for allowing him to defile the brilliant baseball product they carefully crafted and put on the field. You can not be considered an advanced front office if you think Charlie Montoyo belongs anywhere on a baseball field. That is the biggest indictment on this front office than anything else they've done.
  2. Even if a manager were whacky enough to try this, you probably don't want a fat guy who pulled his ass a few weeks ago trying to leg out a bunt in a game-on-the-line type situation.
  3. It required such a ridiculously specific set of circumstances for Semien to come up in that situation it almost felt like the universe was willing the walk-off hit for the cycle. Such a bummer it didn't happen, that would have been a magic moment.
  4. Okay let's go Semien. Just like it was scripted in the heavens.
  5. Alright, now the dream scenario is a Biggio strikeout and a Semien walk-off to complete the cycle.
  6. Montoyo is the dumbest f***ing manager in the history of baseball. He has to be.
  7. Payamps pitches at an insane pace. Felt like he took 30 seconds to throw three pitches there.
  8. Payamps got ice in his veins on those last three pitches.
  9. Bold to load the bases with a pitcher who can't seem to throw strikes right now.
  10. Great gamesmanship by Espinal to pretend as if that throw wasn't anywhere near to try and get the runner to pull up. Didn't work but it was a great try.
  11. It's a joke chart bro.
  12. Vladdy's a legitimately good first baseman so it's sad that his WAR is gonna suffer from all of these starts at DH.
  13. Game #43 Tampa Bay Rays (Glasnow) @ Toronto Blue Jays (Kay) Schedule | Standings | FanGraphs | News | Video | Spotlight | Twitter | Reddit | Instagram
  14. This is a fun one after the Mercedes/La Russa saga:

  16. All of the reasons you laid out are exactly why I believe Vlad should be MVP frontrunner right now. That doesn't change that Ohtani will likely win it because of the narrative. People aren't writing stuff like this about Vlad. That article alone shows that Ohtani has already approached mythic status in baseball. I don't think he should be MVP but I'm certain the writers will give it to him.
  17. Would be 5-2, two on, no outs. That Semien play is gonna bother me all night unless the Jays win this game.
  18. Semien can f*** off. Unforgivable for a veteran to do that.
