  1. Brought up my (very mild) concern with Moreno's lack of power so far in the GDT. Did a quick breakdown of his hits so far and he's yet to get a hit on anything deep into the outfield: 1st hit: Low liner into shallow center https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/sporty-videos?playId=8f0cd32a-6d9e-48af-90b5-3e31bcea4b0d 2nd hit: Grounder thorugh the infield https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/sporty-videos?playId=2b9286ac-ec23-4ef1-a188-c71c6ed801a8 3rd Hit: Grounder through the infield https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/sporty-videos?playId=72d24b90-5ac4-4e2b-8f5e-9a4182eb2a11 4th Hit: Low liner into shallow right https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/sporty-videos?playId=38eb7f2d-ae63-4c3e-bc39-e8dfaba8ec9a 5th Hit: Infield hit https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/sporty-videos?playId=3a88a654-91e7-4529-86ff-c1250ca262ff 6th Hit: Infield hit https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/sporty-videos?playId=c7792c67-5291-4289-97a8-8323d5d4d67d 7th Hit: Grounder into center field https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/sporty-videos?playId=bad77598-e4f7-4dae-beef-bdff1d04e492 8th Hit: Grounder on a lucky bounce https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/sporty-videos?playId=0b4a6a77-be37-4aa3-aa5e-158661d46ac9 9th Hit: Low liner sliced into center https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/sporty-videos?playId=af1b7d14-d898-4671-bc1b-3b4ba9ec4659 10th Hit: Hustle double on a grounder up the middle https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/sporty-videos?playId=5db48060-13d7-497c-b613-093db985fe25 11th Hit: Low liner to shallow right https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/sporty-videos?playId=6bbc3d13-5b56-473d-a60a-9de643731204 12th Hit: Chopper grounder through the infield https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/sporty-videos?playId=f0f9ffed-6bf2-40e0-9d5f-7ff890193bf7 Could probably use a little more seasoning at Triple-A, which I'm sure he'll get when Jansen is back.
  2. It was hyperbole to say he almost never hits line drives or gets the ball deep. He's shown the ability to make contact with the ball but he hasn't shown the ability to consistently drive it, aka any power whatsoever.
  3. Go rewatch all of his hits. The wide majority of them are Tapia-style grounders that dribble through the defense.
  4. Moreno definitely needs more time at Triple-A to try and re-find his power. I don't think he's hit a single ball out of the infield in his entire MLB stint so far.
  5. There are 0 good pitchers in the Blue Jays bullpen. There are 0 good pitchers in the Blue Jays bullpen. I'm here in person and can confirm: There are 0 good pitchers in the Blue Jays bullpen.

  7. If the Jays manage to win this game now after that line-drive double play, I'll finally be at peace with the no-outs-bases-loaded Michael King double play from earlier this year. That inning still torments me to this day.
  8. "Sergio Romo hates fun and loves unwritten rules! I’m sure this will be a great fit for our young team that doesn’t give a f*** about either!"
  9. The Jays were definitely looking for their next Robbie Ray. They made an offer to Andrew Heaney for that exact reason. If only they'd have gotten Heaney instead. They would have at least gotten three incredible starts out of him in between his injuries. Instead, we have to watch them trot out this f***ing hack for the next three years.
  10. Sergio Romo gave the Blue Jays their two biggest comeback wins in franchise history and now gets to cost them games to make up for it. It's truly beautiful how life comes full circle! #LiveLaughLove
  11. - The Blue Jays, who were down 8-2 in the bottom of the 9th against the Rays, come back to tie it after Sergio Romo gives up a game-tying two-run home run to Lourdes Gurriel Jr. - The Blue Jays, who were down 8-2 in the bottom of the 9th against the Rays, walk it off after Sergio Romo gives up a game-winning home run to Justin Smoak on the next pitch - The Blue Jays, who were down 8-2 in the bottom of the 8th against the Athletics, come back to walk it off after Sergio Romo gives up a single to Breyvic Valera, a double to George Springer, and a three-run walk-off bomb to Marcus Semien
  12. Ross Atkins might actually just be trash at building a bullpen.
  13. I'm gonna revise what I said above because things were different when we went to the short-sleeve sweater game against the Yankees. That was a Friday game, vs. the Yankees, with a giveaway, on Father's Day weekend, so it was a massive sell-out crowd. My wife really wanted the sweaters so we went two hours early. We parked comfortably (lots of parking at that time) and then lined up at Gate 11. By the time we lined up I'm guessing it was around 1:50 before game time and we were like 30-40 people deep in the line. Once the gates opened though (20 minute wait), line moved as fast as it always does and we were in within 5-10 minutes. I'm guessing because it's summer, people are more willing to lineup ahead of time, especially on sell-out crowd days, which the Canada Day game definitely will be. So yeah, I definitely suggest going 2 hours ahead of time. Normally they open gates 1.5 hours before game time on weekdays and 2 hours before game time on weekends, I'm not sure if they'll open earlier on Canada Day because it's a holiday but I'd definitely account for that possibility. Unfortunately, this is entirely dependent on when they open the gates. The home team always takes batting practice first and it's usually hours before the game. The only way to see any Blue Jays at all in BP is if the gates opened 2 hours ahead of time and you went in right at that time. In those cases you might catch the last little bit of Blue Jays BP. Then the other team comes out and does theirs. You'll catch a bunch of the away team's BP even if it's a weekday and gates didn't open until 1.5 hours before game time. We always go early and pretty much always catch a few of the away team's BP squads.
  14. The Yankees have a .726 win percentage 73 games into the season. Even if they became the Arizona Diamondbacks overnight (.438 winning percentage) and went 39-50 the rest of the way, they'd finish with 92 wins, lol.
  15. Good to know that calling one player trash is "sitting there and complaining about every problem with the team."
  16. I hate Kikuchi as much as you hate me talking about Kikuchi.
  17. Not sure I saw this coming from Montoyo but I'm glad he called out this bum.
  18. Kikuchi was just trying to make the most of the no-earned-runs opportunity after the error and give the Brewers as much as possible because he's such a good guy.
  19. There are 0 good pitchers in the Blue Jays bullpen. There are 0 good pitchers in the Blue Jays bullpen.
  20. This is not the GDT that the Blue Jays needed, but it is the GDT they deserve. Win streak starts now.
  21. There are 0 good pitchers in the Blue Jays bullpen.
  22. There are 0 good pitchers in the Blue Jays bullpen.
  23. Ah yes, the classic Blue Jays OF move of turning away from the ball and looking at the wall for the bounce, even if they're well within range of just catching the ball.
  24. Nope. One of the regulars is always on the brink of absolute death and the only thing saving them from perishing is a DH start or a rest day.
