You don't need to go that early for the jersey I don't think. Definitely do for the bobblehead. But either way, you don't really have to "line up." As long as you get there around the time that gates open, there's no way you'll miss out on a giveaway. The lines move so fast that I haven't had to "wait in line" at any point this year except Opening Day, which was only about a 5-10 minute wait before we were in. And once you're in the stadium there's lots to do. You can grab food early, you can take a look at the Authentics shop, you can watch batting practice, visit the flight deck, etc. Springer jersey day the gates should open at 1:30 PM (1.5 hours before the 3 PM start time). Vlad and Dad bobblehead day is a weekend so the gates should open 10 AM (2 hours before 12 PM start time). If you're there for the time the gates open, the line floods in and there's no real wait, especially if you go to one of the less busy gates. Both games are still early enough in the day too that you have plenty of time after the game to experience the city and plenty of daylight to visit parks.

I have a conspiracy theory that Ryu is cooked and has a bad injury that's going to have a long rehab and they're only waiting for the Ryu jersey day to come and go before they announce it. Telling people Ryu is potentially out for the year is going to kill a lot of the interest that casuals might have in getting his replica jersey.

It's getting pretty hard to justify why the lefty-hitting Nathan Lukes hasn't yet gotten a chance. I understand you don't want to trial run potential AAAA-type guys in a contending year but Zimmer and Tapia have gotten way too much playing time as it is and they've already trialed Vinny Capra. Lukes was excellent in ST (including great defensive plays) and has been good in AAA. Tell Zimmer to f*** off and bring him up, I don't care about the roster implications. And whenever Tapia's hot-ish streak comes to an end, banish him to the shadow realm as well and call up Samad.

The primary difference is that July 1st you get a Springer jersey, July 2nd day game you get a Vlad Jr/Vlad Sr duo bobblehead, and July 2nd night game/July 3rd you get nothing. In terms of the game-day experience, it's all generally the same except there are more people getting drunk and slightly rowdy in night games. But the thing that has the biggest effect on the general experience is whether the team is winning or losing, lol. Crowd will be more engaged in a close game/more happy in a blowout. Crowd will be dead if the offense is dead or getting blown out.

Hayden Juenger tonight: 4 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 5 K. 48 pitches. Tanner Morris, who had no hits in his first two games in Triple-A, has two singles so far tonight. Nathan Lukes 1-for-2 so far with a walk and a homer. Average up to .308. Dahian Santos had his worst outing of the year: 3 IP, 4 H, 6 ER, 4 BB, 3 K. 65 pitches.
