  1. So it's literally like dreaming about pipes? Like drain pipes? I love Three Days Grace. Though I don't give a s*** what other people think and I also love Seether, Disturbed, Imagine Dragons and Shinedown, all bands that various people have their issues with.
  2. Yeah I don't think there was any chance in hell Konerko would join any team other than the White Sox. Which is a pity since I love Konerko and the White Sox are probably my least favorite team.
  3. Easily. I still remember the first time Burnett came back to Toronto with the Yankees and faced off against Halladay. Was a major sellout. Me and my friends had to wait outside until the fourth inning just to get in, and we left for the Stadium at 4:30. We were in the 500s and I still remember it being the most hilarious game I ever went to. Some guy had a sign in the shape of a giant penis that said "A-Rod" on it (have no idea how he got it into the stadium), and the guys in the row behind me kept throwing s*** at the guys in the row in front of me because they were smoking. The guys in the row in front of us then turned around and said "What the f*** is your problem?" and the guys behind started shouting "If that isn't weed, put that s*** out!" and "You want to know how I got this? -motions fist with a cast around it-" The guys in front turned around and sat back down, lmao.
  4. I wouldn't mind signing either Halladay or Oswalt as projects. Despite their age, both obviously have tremendous upside and probably won't cost much.
  5. Wait, what the hell? Roy Halladay is a free agent? I know he was pretty bad when he came back last year but why hasn't there been anything said about him? The last Halladay-related piece on MLBTR was posted a month ago on November 11. I didn't even know he was an FA until now.
  6. I think we should pick up Ryan Webb. He had a projected 1.5M arb salary and got non-tendered from the Marlins, so it shouldn't cost anything to pick him up. He's quietly been a very decent reliever over the past four seasons and he's only 27. He could be an asset in the climbing relief market, or he could replace one of the guys that the Jays may inevitably trade. With the Jays recent success with relievers lately, seems like a perfect fit.
  7. Are you saying that you don't believe that Gomes can repeat his Rookie season success? If so, I can understand where you're coming from, but I ask because you may also be one of the many people that don't realize that Gomes put up 3.7 WAR in 2013. I think both of them can reasonably hit those marks, and even surpass them.
  8. "What it basically comes down to is Toronto trading an older pricier reliever (Lincoln) for younger cheaper starter with a full six years of control remaining plus options." comma between "older pricier" change "for younger cheaper" into "for a younger, cheaper" "If neither of these things happen, he still provides a cheap lefty relief option out of the bullpen where his stuff would play up and his breaking ball would be even more affective." *be even more effective Not a grammar Nazi, just want your article to be correctly edited. Brings it a wee bit more credibility.
  9. Gotta make an edit in your article. You said he got here along with Erik Krause, the correct spelling is Erik Kratz.
  10. I agree. Though I'd rather spend it on 5 players. You could have gotten Anibal and David Ross last year, along with Choo, Infante and Garza this year, and still probably not pass 310M. And that's dividing it over two off-seasons.
  11. We don't know what went on behind the scenes into the Hanigan trade though. If part of getting Hanigan was having to go into a 3-way trade and having to eat the 6M salary on Bell or whatever it was, I could completely see why the Jays wouldn't be a part of it. That kind of money could be the difference in signing a guy like Infante (not that I'm getting my hopes up). Not necessarily. If he was rushed into spending, they could have told him that they were open to acquiring players already on contracts, rather than blowing a lot more money in free agency. And besides, who would he have gone for? Hamilton? Bourn? Upton? We can say what we want right now, but Reyes and Johnson were probably the two best names that found a new team last offseason. I still stand by the Marlins trade, I thought it was good then, I think it's good now. The two biggest mistakes were trading for Dickey and not signing Sanchez. I'm not sure how much Sanchez would have wanted to come here, but he was a guy I wanted from Day 1 and thought it would have been a great piece to add to the Toronto Marlins. I loved the Melky move, but never at any point was I ever able to convince myself that Dickey was a smart move. I thought it was stupid as f***ing balls then, and I think it's worse now.
  12. I like it as a depth trade. He was a guy that you had to get rid of because of the no-options. Rasmussen is going to become the Jose Bautista for pitchers, book it.
  13. Someone posted this on fangraphs in response to another guy wondering why Rendon wasn't in the trade. Made me laugh my ass off.
  14. The Ellsbury deal is being signed three years after the Crawford one, in a market that is now disgustingly flooded with new money. The Ellsbury deal is worth significantly less than the Crawford one was, and it can easily pay off very quickly for them. This is a guy that posted 9.1 fWAR two seasons ago, and is coming off a 5.8 fWAR season. He only needs to put up 20-25 wins over the next 7 years to be worth the money.
  15. But oh look, a trade within a division. What a f***ing surprise, huh AA? I really like this trade for the A's right now, but the Rangers could also come out ahead eventually. Even though he hasn't been as impressive as I expected him to be at this point, I've always liked Choice.
  16. Yeah, in before these morons end up paying Nathan 1.5 to 2x what Fister would have made. Oh well, I hope it's a high price, it just makes the relief market even more lucrative and helps raise the prices on our relievers.
  17. What the f***, what the hell did the Tigers get for Fister? If that's all it took, I'm f***ing pissed that the Blue Jays didn't offer them twice as much.
  18. Was hoping the Jays would be able to get him to come to Toronto, but didn't think it was realistic. I really don't want to see them bring in a f***stick pitcher like Ubaldo or Santana.
  19. Don't think I'd do that trade if I was either team, just because for the Rangers, they risk losing a ton of potential, and the Jays potentially acquire a lot of risk. Profar could be a stud but he could also be a complete dud. Maybe if I had more numbers and scouting information that these teams actually have, I'd get swayed one way or the other. Bautista himself is looking more and more like a guy who's never going to have another 150 game season. Edit: Then again, Chappy brings up Bautista's salary, which I wasn't accounting for. That might make me favour the trade a bit more, just because of the additional flexibility it could add.
  20. I think whoever made that comment ensured that Stoeten will never mention BB again lol.
  21. How f***ing badly does it hurt to know that one of the most perfect candidates for our catching job is Yan Gomes. We gifted the Red Sox their world series winning manager, and threw away one of the best young catchers in the game at this point, for Esmil Rogers.
  22. Wouldn't it be a f***ing delight if we could somehow trade for Jason Castro? I'm not buying into this whole Hanigan/Pierzynski/Saltalamacchia bandwagon. You guys have been subjected to the terrible f***ing atrocity that is JPA for so long that you've likely been blinded out of desperation into thinking that these guys (in comparison to him) are All-Stars. But I bitched out on the Jays in July and stopped watching then, so with my obviously pristine perspective, all of those guys are just different variations of JP Arencibia. We need something better.
  23. It is incredibly fun, it's a lot better than it even sounds on here because right now it's just in writing. Problem is that these asswhores are lazy. I'm thinking of starting up a signup thread just to see if more people put their names down without having to scrape through all the crap in this thread.
