  1. I don't understand the complaints about ABS not being 100% accurate. I don't care about it being 100% and it doesn't need to be 100% to be a massive improvement. I'll take 98-99% from ABS over these f***ing cartoons behind the plate making the calls themselves any day.
  2. Because the ******** prima donna players voted against it. Thankfully, the league now has the power to unilaterally implement rule changes with 45-day notice and can have robo umps in place for 2023.
  3. That was my thought as well. Something about his swing is kinda gross to me and everything he hit felt weak yesterday. First game of the season though.
  4. yOu kNoW mOrE tHaN aTkInS i GuEsS Yeah, baseball front offices are totally infallible and can't make obvious mistakes. Joe Panik definitely didn't get 141 plate appearances with the Blue Jays last year.
  5. Yeah, it sure sucks that we have no prior data or track record to look at.
  6. Was only a matter of time before this garbage-baller got touched up for some runs. Only so much luck and stellar defense can bail you out. This is why I didn't want Kikuchi on the team. He is awful.
  7. He was added to the team to replace Jansen when he was moved to the IL. There are two catchers on this team: Kirk and Heineman. Collins is apparently a positionless player that can't do anything but DH. Thank god he's such an elite hitter that he's still worth giving a roster spot to.

  9. Because he's doing literally what management is telling him to do. It's the exact same situation as Aaron Boone in New York. The managers are puppets for what the FO wants, which is why the FO has no reason to be upset at them.
  10. Espinal's hits today: - 103.5 MPH - 100.6 MPH I don't think Espinal realizes that even if you can hit the ball that hard, it's not actually supposed to be easy to do it so often. Guy is enjoying his newfound strength.
  11. Predicting a Collins bomb in his first at-bat!
  12. This team has an obsession with having three active catchers. Just for a 10-day Danny Jansen DL stint, they gave up Palacios, lmao. Despite having Collins and Kirk already on the roster and Moreno conceivably coming up eventually.
  13. Who the f*** is Tyler Heineman? Also lol at Josh Palacios catching the most random of strays.
  14. Game-Day Manoah is a don, lmao. https://twitter.com/BlueJays/status/1513619394169085961
  15. I'd also like to see Collins play before committing to s*** on the guy. Maybe they like what they saw in practice or maybe htey think he already worked out some of his issues over the offseason. Like I said when they made the trade, the raw tools are incredibly promising. His exit velocities are significantly better than even Anabolic Espinal so far. And his minors numbers were always top-notch. He's an adjustment away from being a really good hitter.
  16. Zulueta starting in Vancouver.
  17. The FO deserves 100% of the credit when they do good things and they deserve 100% of the blame when they do stupid s***. They brought in Collins, a guy who is clearly a defective bat, and decided to roster him at the major league level instead of trying to develop him at AAA. Even when they brought in Zimmer, they sent Katoh down instead of Collins. That tells you they want to play him. You don't go out of your way to roster three catchers if you don't want that third guy getting play. Stuff like this is retroactively cleansing the hate I had for Montoyo over things like playing Joe Panik too much. I don't believe there's a chance in hell he was playing Panik against the FO's wishes. I think the FO had him played as long as they could until they realized he was a pumpkin and then they traded him away. Hopefully they're right about whatever they see in guys like Collins, Tapia and Zimmer because, from a distance, that looks like a f***ton of bad plate appearances to give to projects in an all-in contention year before you get to the Joe Panik point of cutting them loose.
  18. I have 0 ill feelings towards Montoyo at this point. I'm perfectly fine with him as the manager and I actually think he's pretty wholesome and a nice personality to keep around the team. I am 100% certain that these lineup and roster decisions are being mandated by Shatkins. I'm sure I'll still get annoyed by Montoyo's micro-decisions like when he pulls a guy early or how often he leaves them in too long but that's the case with every manager in the league. That being said, I no longer believe he's behind calls like which relievers to use in certain situations and which guys to start in the lineup. There's no way he's doing this stuff on his own against the wishes of the FO and they're still keeping him around. The only way it makes sense is if they're making those calls themselves.

  20. You are 100% a bag of garbage and you are 100% aware of it. You aren't fooling anyone. Everyone here knows exactly what you're doing.
