  1. Looks like someone is selling tickets to the State of the Franchise meeting next week as well: http://www.kijiji.ca/v-tickets/city-of-toronto/2-tickets-toronto-blue-jays-state-of-the-franchise-feb-5/1048264668?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true
  2. Wow is this authentic? http://www.kijiji.ca/v-art-collectibles/markham-york-region/85-blue-jays-world-series-ticket/1037286744?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true I'm not a collector but that seems like a pretty cool collector's item.
  3. How's this guy never been given a shot before this though? Sure he's probably nothing and he did it in a bad league, but those numbers are just disgusting. And he's actually faced older competition throughout most of his career. I really like this signing, hope they give him a real shot.
  4. It looks like I really gotta step up my non-PG game when posting pictures and gifs now. No.
  5. Apologies in advance, Doc. http://i.imgur.com/fa1bVdX.png
  6. #3 f***ing looks like Roy Halladay, lmao.
  7. Look at their hands bro. Hands bro... Hansbrough? If you can't already tell from their obvious tranny faces, the hands are a dead giveaway on #1 and #3, biceps on #2 and legs on #4.
  8. You're wrong (somewhat), 432 is right. They're all trans. Also: http://i.gyazo.com/6cbd8c04e4a4548aea42f98b3bdace4f.png Yep, used to be a dude.
  9. Yeah, I made my comment before reading the rest of the thread. I acknowledged Ang's post above "a) This is now moot, because as I read the rest of the thread, it was confirmed that it did fall through on Belisairo's side" lol, looks like we both made the exact same blunder. Commenting before reading the rest of the thread.
  10. Right. Getting a look at Belisario over Jenkins or Drabek or any of the large host of scrubs they'll have there fighting for bullpen spots is an easy choice. They always enter spring training with an assload of guys who they cut out in waves throughout the month and a half that they're there. They also have more than one facility running more than one game at a time, so it's almost never a problem getting people playing time. As for the MiLB portion being irrelevant, it absolutely isn't. It's the exact point I'm trying to make in why this deal wouldn't fall through on the Jays end. If they're going to grant him his release on not making the team anyway, then why would they not test him out in spring training? It's a built-in out for them, there's no point pulling out before getting a look at him.
  11. a) This is now moot, because as I read the rest of the thread, it was confirmed that it did fall through on Belisairo's side There's absolutely no lack of minor league innings, that's a pretty outrageous remark. Minor league salaries are next to nothing, if Belisario was weak in spring training or something popped up on his physical, they could just relegate him to the minors on a low contract that costs them very little and gives them a very strong depth option. No team will ever pull out of a minor league deal, unless the guaranteed major league portion is very high (in this case, it wasn't).
  12. What a f***ing messiah you are. You literally said that AA spent 3M on Belisario (nearly twice as much). Such undeniable truth. God damned idiot. Makes no sense on a minor league deal. Had to have fallen through on Belisario's side.
  13. Yeah, everything I've heard about DDP Yoga is a lot more positive than what I've heard about Insanity. The latter is physically impossible for most people to get comfortable with in the first place, and people who are actually pretty fit and have gotten into it have complained about wear and tear on their knees. If anyone is interested in experimenting with either, you can find torrents for both pretty easily. If you do wanna look at Insanity, find their Beachbody program.
  14. While we're on the topic of health and fitness, a few tools that I used: - For exercise, if you're going for pure weight loss, there probably isn't a better all-round machine than the elliptical. If you can keep yourself on it for even a third of a baseball game, or the duration of a movie, you won't notice any time go by, and it'll do you a world of benefit. The gym I was going to regularly had episodes of Archer or some s*** playing right above the ellipticals, so time flew by quickly. - HIIT workouts (high intensity interval training) are also excellent for strength and conditioning. They've really become popular lately and for good reason. - There's also a workout called DDP Yoga, which basically markets itself as geared more towards men. I have yet to try it, but a ton of people I've heard or read from have said it's great. Note: I don't recommend the "Insanity" workouts. A lot of people that I've talked to have said that it f***ed up their knees, and that's a no-no for me, because my knees are s*** as it is. As for motivation, two things I really liked: a) Video series on YouTube called "Fit2Fat2Fit" which chronicles a fitness instructor gaining a s*** ton of a weight and then losing it all back again over the course of six months (or was it a year?) to understand the pain of his clients and to prove to people that it's possible to do it eBook called "Man 2.0: Engineering the Alpha". I know, I know it sounds stupid, but it was a New York Times best seller and got a recommendation from Schwarzenegger. I really recommend at least picking this thing up and reading a chapter or two (and you can find it for free online).
  15. I do drink soda, I just don't binge on it like I did once upon a time. If everything you're eating is essentially good for your health, and you're not taking in any other forms of bad sugars or useless carbs, then a regular sized ice cream sandwich (or something with similar nutrition values) won't really have any negative effects on you. The calories are essentially the same, but a can of Coke has four times as much sugars in it than the sandwich.
  16. I wouldn't recommend going permanently without carbs anyways. If you're someone that likes to get in some regular exercise, than you absolutely need carbs for energy, or you'll drain yourself 20 minutes into a jog. Of course, that's where you figure out what the good carbs are vs what the bad carbs are. I do recommend cutting out carbs in the initial sprint to cut weight though, because it really helps knock off the early bunch of weight, and that in turn helps people develop a very positive mentality towards something that they've probably been largely unmotivated for. Once you've gotten to a weight where you're comfortable where you are or don't mind taking it slow, it only takes a bit of research to figure out how to properly fit carbs into your diet so that you're always energetic but you're not piling back on the pounds. For those that are afraid of being constantly hungry, when I was on this diet, I probably felt less hunger than I've ever felt in maybe the 10 years prior to getting into it, because now I always had something to constantly munch on, whether it's stuff like carrots and bell peppers, a plate of fruit or maybe even a handful of almonds. Some people say that too much fruit can be bad for you, but I say f*** those people. I took in a s*** ton of fruit and it only made me feel better.
  17. It blew my f***ing mind when I started noticing the kind of stuff that I regularly used to eat and how many calories each of those things have. A single bagel without anything in it can have anywhere from 250-400 calories, and I'd never feel full or satisfied without making two bagels for one meal. That's f***ing crazy. If you're on a diet where you're only taking in 1500 calories a day, then even if you're eating purely s***, you'll passively drop weight. But that isn't possible if you're using a third to two thirds of that quota on a couple of breakfast bagels. I told myself that I don't mind dropping a bagel, and then treating myself to an ice cream sandwich or something. Throughout that month I probably had an entire 24-quantity box of those no-name ice cream sandwiches you get at no-frills for like seven bucks, because they're only 130 calories a pop. You can easily fit that into a healthy 1500-2000 calories a day, so you're essentially doing yourself a favor by eating healthy, you're essentially getting a "cheat" snack every day, and you don't feel like you're constantly punishing yourself. If you can find trade-offs like that, than anyone can be on a meal plan like this, be perfectly happy, and really improve their health, appearance and conditioning.
  18. I'm positive that there had to have been water weight in there, but there was visible fat loss. First family gathering I went to where it was probably two weeks into my diet, pretty much everyone noticed that I'd made some cuts. Makes you feel great too. Felt BSOML. I get kind of sluggish throughout the winter, so I got a bit lazier on my diet throughout those months and gained some of it back, but I'm really anxious to get started on it again, especially with some new stuff that I was too chicken s*** to try at the time (like this that seems to have unanimously good reviews but I just can't stomach the idea of having it just yet). I was trying to push myself to get into a diet for quite a while, but I really had to force myself into a mind set for it, and then once I got started, it's f***ing easy when you see 2 or 3 pounds dropping off every few days. Of course it's gonna eventually slow down, but when you start seeing those changes, it really does motivate you more. Plus, the food I was having was great. I love chicken and turkey and I don't drink, so the eventual adjustments weren't all that tough. Just basically treating yourself to a good meal every day without the bread and the garbage junk to follow it up.
  19. I know this is a totally different conversation but I was actually just thinking about this in how it sort of pertained to the pop discussion. Like I said, once I got off drinking so much pop, it actually made me feel kind of sick to think back on how much I used to have, and I recently experienced a similar thing with high-caloric food/junk as well. Last August I felt like cutting some weight so I read around, tried to find a good meal plan or a diet or something that was highly recommended, but I wasn't really satisfied with anything I found so I kinda just winged it. Cut out sugars (glucose) and carbs completely; no juice, not even brown bread. Went almost completely with protein with something like salmon, chicken breast, turkey or a plate of vegetables or something for nearly every meal. To satisfy my sweet tooth, I'd just have strawberries or kiwis or something. For maybe the first five days or so it was f***ing torture, but you actually get used to it very quickly after that. I probably cheated a couple times throughout, probably had a filet-o-fish from McDonalds once, maybe Pizza once or twice, but I cut over 20 pounds (213 to 190) in a little less than a month (around August 5 to August 25 ish) and got to the point where even thinking about eating something as trivial as white bread really repelled me. Mind you, this was with very little exercise, I probably hit the gym only seven or eight times that month. What you eat/drink has a huge bearing on your metabolism and for people that struggle to lose weight, yeah exercise is good the way it's good for everybody, but 75% of your gains and losses are based on what you're putting down your throat.
  20. This was a problem of mine too, used to have way too little water for way too long. Started putting six bottles of water in front of myself every day whenever I was on the computer or trying to relax and when you've got it in front of you, you don't even realize how quick you get through it. Really got myself used to having a healthy amount of water and now I actually get agitated if my glass or bottle is empty. It's actually decent for if you wanna drop a few pounds too, you don't feel hungry as much and as often if you're constantly sipping on water.
  21. I'm the same way, I think of all the diet drinks, Coke is the most unbearable, makes my teeth dry and leaves a terrible after taste. I think I've gotten my system used to not having as much pop as I used to have, and have developed a lower tolerance for it. There was a stretch a few weeks ago where I must have had about eight cans of Canada Dry in the span of two or three days, pretty much just trying to get rid of all the leftover s*** from a party I had at my place; it's probably the first time in years I've had that much pop in a short span of time and I was legit feeling heartburn for a day or two after. Actually kind of disgusts me now when I think back on how much pop I used to consume.
  22. Coke Zero uses aspartame instead of sugar. Both are bad for you if you have too much of it, but it's probably a lot easier to "have too much" of the disgusting amount of sugar in Coke, so yeah I'd say you're picking the lesser of two evils if you prefer Zero.
  23. It's s***. The taste is bad, and the synthetic garbage they put in Coke Zero is probably worse for you than Coke. I still drink cola on occasion, I actually have a can of Dr. Pepper open in front of me right now, but I really really cut down on how much I used to drink. Most colas are essentially innocent if you have them in moderation, like most things. Too much of anything is terrible for you, whether that's the sugar in regular Coke or the aspartame in Coke Zero.
  24. That's so f***ing bad for you. As a 22 year old who used to drink a s*** ton of cola, I can tell you from first hand experience that it's terrible for your health. Doc told me I was at risk of getting diabeetus before the age of 17. Dropped that s*** quick after that. If anything is gonna disgust you to the point of turning you off drinks like coke, it's probably this video right here:
  25. Imagine if Gerrit Cole had signed with the Yankees? We can do this all day, lol. Happens to every team, can't dwell on it or you'll drive yourself nuts. Can't give 3M to every high ceiling guy still on the board after the 10th round. Most of them won't turn out and you won't think twice about them. The very very few that do will leave you feeling heartbroken and regretful. For every Bryant, Paxton and Nola, there's probably 30 guys that the team was unable to sign that nobody can even name without pulling up a list.
