  5. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/07/blue-jays-have-interest-in-mat-latos.html 8:46 AM: The Blue Jays are interested in Mat Latos. 9:32 AM: While the Blue Jays are interested in acquiring Mat Latos, he isn't among their top targets. 10:14 AM: Mat Latos is little more than a back-up solution for the Blue Jays. 10:48 AM: The Blue Jays have no interest in Mat Latos. http://i.imgur.com/Wv1wbbt.gif
  6. I don't care. That means nothing to me. Not having made the playoffs in a long time shouldn't automatically raise the value of a s***** 1 game play-in. It's still a s***** 1 game play-in. I'd rather have guys that give the team a better shot at making the playoffs for a longer period of time, and going deep into those playoffs if they ever get there, rather than throw away players who could become very valuable assets for a one game crapshoot. On the other hand, if you're talking about a realistic shot at the division title, that's where I believe the team should be making some big moves, for players with some control. And the Athletics were another wild card seed who went all in, traded away very valuable long-term assets, acquired two "aces", and have nothing but a garbage 2015 season to show for it.
  7. I'd give up nothing for a wild card spot. If a wild card spot was the realistic best case scenario, I'd either stand pat or trade guys like Buehrle to a contending team.
  8. Nobody is asking you. Of all the people on this forum, you're the most desperate for the Jays to make a move, and over the last year, I don't think anybody has complained more than you have. You're also one of the people that doesn't want to actually give up anything of value to make those acquisitions. Makes perfect sense. If the Jays do make a trade, you'll probably be the first to complain that they gave up too much, and that not only are they still doomed for 2015, they probably just threw their future away. You're the worst kind of sports fan.
  9. Since 1995, of all the times that a contending team has traded for an ace at the trade deadline, almost all of them have made the playoffs (17 out of 21), but absolutely none of them have won the world series. It doesn't really mean much, but it goes to show you that it's irresponsible to believe that an addition of any one player can carry you through October. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/whats-happened-to-teams-that-traded-for-aces/ http://cdn.fangraphs.com/blogs/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/ace-trade.png
  10. Why the hell does everybody want Leake? He's the worst of all the available starters that have been mentioned on the market so far.
  11. Even Jeff Blair is like "this guy is f***ing stupid".
  12. Kemp got hit four times by the same pitch (forearm > wrist > face > arm) http://mediadownloads.mlb.com/mlbam/2015/07/22/mlbtv_sfnsdn_279103083_1200K.mp4
  13. Choo needed a triple for the cycle, and he got it in the 9th inning.
  14. Okay no. Antz was great. Toy Story was f***ing awesome. Small Soldiers was alpha as f***. Kids movies suck now.
  15. GDT (1/3): Blue Jays @ Athletics | Buehrle vs Graveman | July 21 - 10:05 PM http://i.gyazo.com/9aa24b92f566f4be735ae63605581056.png http://i.gyazo.com/5ad8b73f1a19a9c60f9b3105ac19430c.png http://media.giphy.com/media/j1xNktKeYKgWA/giphy.gif http://i.imgur.com/AZOjs17.gif http://i.gyazo.com/0803918f9e1175c477f4e74b996e448d.png http://i.gyazo.com/5415763adeac572b82740ef452776ba0.png http://i.gyazo.com/8ee4c5cd7c3a42d567591b9f4e031f7b.png
  16. I was about to post a decent one, but I realized that someone probably made a s***-tier GDT again, and I was right.
  17. I have one of them ignored, I can only see his quotes if someone else quotes him, I didn't know how else to respond.
  18. http://i.gyazo.com/08105414afa49d0bb094045704f6f640.png Once Pompey returns, I don't think he's going to be much worse than a .315 OBP. If he needs to prove it first, then I'd stick with Travis there. Reyes has been terrible with the bat this season (in relation to his own standards) and it's become unjustifiable to keep him anywhere near the top half of the order.
  19. With Pompey, I would probably flip Jose and Donaldson, lead with Pompey, and move everyone down one spot. 1 - Pompey 2 - Travis 3 - Bautista 4 - Donaldson 5 - Smoak 6 - Encarnacion 7 - Martin 8 - Pillar 9 - Reyes
  20. I actually wouldn't mind leading off with Donaldson, but Travis should probably be tested in the leadoff spot again. I'd probably set the lineup something like this: 1 - Devon Travis 2 - Josh Donaldson 3 - Jose Bautista 4 - Justin Smoak 5 - Edwin Encarnacion 6 - Chris Colabello 7 - Russell Martin 8 - Kevin Pillar 9 - Jose Reyes
  21. I was going to add that FanGraphs should probably be embarrassed that one of their guys wrote that thing, but it looks like he's no longer with them. Hasn't posted there since mid-2014.
