1. Hazel Mae asked people on Twitter to give suggestions for a nickname for this Blue Jays offense and some people came up with "Super Barrio Brothers" lmao. That's amazing.
2. How I would do it: Now Full Strength 1 | Springer 1 | Springer 2 | Vladdy 2 | Vladdy 3 | Bichette 3 | Teoscar 4 | Collins 4 | Bichette 5 | Gurriel 5 | Collins 6 | Chapman 6 | Gurriel 7 | Kirk 7 | Chapman 8 | Espinal 8 | Kirk 9 | Tapia 9 | Espinal No chance you move Springer out of the leadoff spot that he loves and there's nowhere else to really put Espinal. Even if Espinal is somehow a 120 wRC+ hitter now, despite adding 100 points to his isolated power, he's also striking out nearly twice as much as he did last year and has lost 50 points on his BA and 40 points on his OBP. So far he's selling discipline for a higher power approach. Anabolic Espi is in a weird place where you still need time to figure out exactly what he is now. Collins himself also has a huge small-sample flag of course but, as I mentioned when he was acquired, a potential offensive breakout for him is predicated on really promising raw tools that we already knew about, which is significantly better exit velocities than Espinal and a long track record of dominating the minor leagues. Ride the hot hand until you find out whether the breakout is real or falls back down to earth.
3. Clips from April 26, 2022 Clips by Me: George Springer ties the game in the bottom of the 9th with a two-run bomb to straightaway center - Extended Raimel Tapia walks off the Red Sox - Extended Clips by Me (Off-Topic): Auston Matthews scores goal #59 on the season Auston Matthews scores his 60th goal - Extended Clips by Others: The Twins walk-off the Tigers on a wild play Gosuke Katoh (u/gkatoh) walks up to Never Gonna Give You Up and rickrolls the Rogers Centre Trout goes yard against McKenzie to make it 3-0 for the Halos Pete Alonso is not too pleased about another pitch thrown at his head Adam Duvall robs Seiya Suzuki with a great catch and then doubles up Michael Hermosillo at first with help from Dansby Swanson
4. It would be the most Blue Jays loss ever if they lost 5-4 and the difference ended up being the missed foul tip.
5. Why are you using these ghetto sites still when MLB66 exists?
6. My point is that I don't care whether he is or isn't a puppet. Either they are telling him what to do or they're okay with his decisions. But it's not his fault regardless. If they don't like his decisions they can fire him. Or they can step in and tell him what to do better. When neither is happening, the organization as a whole is at fault for every questionable decision, not just one guy.
7. I've become a Charlie stan and every bad managerial decision that takes place this season is Shatkins fault. Either they're sending the instructions down themselves directly, or they are condoning it by regularly extending Charlie. Whether he is simply following his marching orders or his inadequacy is being enabled by up top, it's not really Charlie's fault either way.
8. lmao. I f***ing love this league. Everyone wants to trade all the time.
9. IT IS DONE. I flipped J.D. Martinez and Colin McHugh into Juan Soto.
10. Oh this isn't a D&H. Those require 0 effort, we haven't even looked at them since drafting haha. This is a H2H weekly matchup league. So anyway, now someone is offering me Soto for Harper LOL. Should I take it?
11. lol I think all of us in this league are pretty new to fantasy. No legit long-time vets in here. And a lot of the guys in there seem to be pretty reactionary and putting way too much stock in small samples. I wound up getting that deal done today. Received: Bryce Harper (75.5 points) Max Scherzer (119.5 points) Sent: J.D. Martinez (62.5 points) Tylor Megill (133.8 points) Colin McHugh (29.3 points) Stephen Strasburg (0 points - IL)
12. My league uses saber scoring. We do have bonuses for saves and holds but there are no wins and you get more credit just for IP and K's. That's why I'm trying to make space to claim Jhoan Duran. Here's my current RP corps with their fantasy point totals: So even with no saves and 2 holds, Feyereisen has been on of my better RP so far. But yeah I get what you're saying and I'll definitely have to consider that decision when it comes.
13. Check my second last post in the fantasy advice thread please.
14. For reference on my future questions, this is a 10-team redraft league. 30-man rosters with 22 active (9 bats, 5 SP, 8 RP) and 8 reserves. Here is my current roster: C | Sean Murphy 1B | Matt Olson 2B | Marcus Semien SS | Wander Franco 3B | Manny Machado OF | George Springer OF | Teoscar Hernandez (D/T Tony Gonsolin) OF | J.D. Martinez (D/T Jesus Sanchez) DH | Spencer Torkelson RES1 | Zack Collins RES2 | Max Muncy RES3 | Chris Taylor RES4 | Enrique Hernandez SP1 | Shohei Ohtani SP2 | Jacob DeGrom (D/T Bruce Zimmermann) SP3 | Kevin Gausman SP4 | Clayton Kershaw SP5 | Alek Manoah RES5 | Jose Berrios RES6 | Frankie Montas RES7 | Tylor Megill RES8 | Paul Blackburn RP1 | Blake Treinen (D/T Dillon Peters) RP2 | Tim Mayza RP3 | Will Crowe RP4 | J.P. Feyereisen RP5 | Kendall Graveman RP6 | Aaron Loup RP7 | Jhoan Duran (D/T Colin McHugh) RP8 | Victor Arano Drops/Trades: x | Jesus Sanchez > J.D. Martinez x | Dillon Peters > Blake Treinen x | Colin McHugh > Jhoan Duran x | Tony Gonsolin > Teoscar Hernandez x | Bruce Zimmermann > Jacob DeGrom x | Stephen Strasburg (IL) x | Andrew Heaney (IL) x | Danny Jansen (IL) D/T means I currently have that player rostered and will need to drop or trade them to make room for my IL guys. I'm going to try and make 2-for-1 or 3-for-1 deals to move Sanchez, Strasburg, Jansen and McHugh. I don't mind dropping Peters, Gonsolin and Zimmermann outright when my injured stars get back. Andrew Heaney is the one guy on my drop list right now that I really want to find a spot for on my team because I think this is his breakout Robbie Ray year.
15. I think I can swing Megill + Strasburg (IL) for Scherzer in a redraft. Thoughts?
16. As soon as the wild pitch moved the runners up, I 100% walk Buxton there and take my chances with Arraez.
17. One of my blind spots with this team's lineup construction is that I'm not sure why Lourdes Gurriel Jr. needs so much time at DH. Did they ever speak on that? I feel like he gets a disproportionate amount of time there. This lineup would look quite a bit better if Collins was batting in place of Zimmer.
18. Missed this yesterday. Recorded as long of a clip as Streamable would let me, lol: Byron Buxton crushes a 3-1 Hendriks pitch 467 feet to walk off the White Sox
19. Is Blackburn potentially the real deal? I have him rostered and he's been amazing so far but if I also have a roster crunch right now where I need to explore 2-for-1 or 3-for-2 options to fit all my guys. If I can work out something like Blackburn + McHugh for Alcantara, should I take it?
20. I have no interest in trading Bassitt right now, especially not for Mancini.
21. Saw that coming from lightyears away. Nibbles to Maldonado, throws a meatball right down the pipe to Brantley. He was lucky he didn't get rocked in his last outing.
22. Nibbling around the zone against Martin Maldonado, lol.
23. Don't try and stretch your hit into a double if you got caught 'mirin your shot as if it was a homer. Either blitz all the way or take the single.
