  1. I like this. Pardinho's mechanics would definitely make him a black swan in that context. It's oddly relevant here, considering how the two guys in the second video base a lot of their doubts on how extraordinary he is for his age.
  2. They think he's matured because he's stocky, lol. I don't know enough about anatomy and scouting to have a definitive opinion on the matter, and I'm not sure what being stocky has to do with projecting height. It does sound suspect to put a cap on a 15 year old no matter what his body looks like, especially considering Aardsma dropped the scientific bomb that "most people are pretty decently grown into their bodies" by 15. I'm excited about this kid and I'm optimistic from the first video because he bases all of his analysis on the actual mechanics and has multiple angles from which to judge him. The second video, the guys didn't have a side view so all of their analysis was based on one angle, and it felt like they made too many assumptions. The one consistent thing with both videos was that all of them marveled at his unbelievable mechanics, with the first video saying that he has god-given mechanical abilities that can't be taught, and the second saying that he was displaying some of the best hip-to-shoulder separation they'd ever seen.
  3. A different video, this one from the other side of the coin, with Brent Pourciau and David Aardsma (starts at 2:15, ends at 12:50): These guys don't seem like they know what they're talking about as much as the Baseball Rebellion guy in the first video but it's still a different look, which can be healthy if you like to follow prospects from this early on. They think that Pardinho looks like he's matured early and don't see him growing a whole lot more, which could be an issue for a kid who's 5'9". They also think that as he grows, his body won't be as flexible and some of the picture-perfect, fluid mechanics he has right now might tighten up. Lastly, they propose the idea because he's so far ahead of other kids his age right now, he might get complacent and won't continue to improve because apparently it's hard to have a work ethic if you've got nobody to chase.
  4. The video metafour was referring to: According to the guy in the video, he's doing things mechanically that only Chapman at the big league level is consistently pulling off.
  5. After being restricted in spending in the International Free Agent market in 2016 as a result of the 2015 signing of Vladimir Guerrero, the Blue Jays will be free of any penalties in the 2017 market. The new period begins on July 2 but rumors have already begun swirling. This thread will be used to discuss the IFA market and will be updated with official signings when the market opens up a few months from now. MLB.com's international prospect rankings: http://m.mlb.com/prospects/2017?list=int The Blue Jays are rumored to be tied with the #5 ranked prospect, RHP Eric Pardinho and the #17 ranked prospect, SS Miguel Hiraldo.
  6. f***ing brutal. I posted an instance of this a while back of Aggies fans doing this to opposing pitchers to get in their heads. This time they got them to 11 balls in a row before giving up a grand slam. That's the kind of s*** that'll give you the yips.
  7. The wifey has some pop too. http://www.espn.com/video/clip?id=19306256
  8. Adam Jones gets his first career ejection after 1400+ games at the major league level. The rivalry that keeps on giving. Also, lmao at Eckersley's jab at the ump at the end of that clip.
  9. On the flip side, "PS Unlike most on here, I have a master's..." could be a top-notch board meme.
  10. Nah, you're good. Weirdly enough, these games aren't really stressing me out. Outside of being annoyed whenever the s***** Rays take a game off the Jays, I'm kind of in a zen place with sports right now. I'm on such a high from the Leafs that the Jays struggles and the Cavs s***ing on the Raptors aren't really hitting me as much as maybe they should. Went so many years without seeing playoff games in Toronto sports that now that every team is succeeding simultaneously and creating these amazing moments, the slip-ups aren't as bad as they used to me. Besides, it's just a really good time for sports in general and a really good time to be a fan. The MLB producing the second most April home runs in history, or Westbrook averaging a triple double, or the Leafs rookies breaking every rookie record... seems like every night something new and crazy might happen. Just yesterday, Isaiah Thomas dropped 53 points in a playoff game on the same day that his sister would have become 23 years old (she died in a car accident a couple weeks ago). That's crazy. Guy had his Brett Favre moment. Sorry for going off on a tangent but maybe being able to sit back and just take it all in will help people deal with their terrible experience with the Blue Jays right now.

  12. You're absolutely right about the s***** hits. Biagini pitched well and the Yanks have been feasting on hilarious BABIP. By "entire sequence" I meant all parts of that single play. I don't put the rest of that inning on Biagini at all.
  13. That entire sequence is entirely on Biagini to be honest. Missed the comebacker and then just had a mental meltdown and took too long to let go of it to first.

  15. Wait, Pearce wears a batting glove beneath his catching glove?
  16. Have the game muted for Raptors/Cavs, why was Stroman taken out so early? Injury? Or just because he got shelled? Seemed weird to see him taken out at the open of an inning, especially considering he still had a lead.
  17. This is adorable. Harrison and Cervelli feeling Ngoepe's heart racing during his debut.
  18. Machado cussing up a storm in his post-game. https://streamable.com/ig630 Kinda siding with him on this one.
  19. Also, Jerry hasn't been in the booth because he's been sick. Sent out this message today:

  23. Bautista still has the best eye in the game. What an at-bat.
