  1. Ha, good thing I refreshed the main page before hitting submit. Was just about to post a GDT.
  2. Smoak's homer also had the lowest launch angle in the MLB this year at 15°.
  3. Highlights: Kevin Pillar's run saving catch Kevin Pillar's walk-off bomb
  4. Unfortunately for him, he has basically no power. I'm not sure what his defense is like; offensively, he gets on base but he's not doing anything else. A one dimensional 24 year old in A ball is probably not the kind of guy you want to put your hopes in. Now if we're talking about non-prospects who are forcing people to take a look at them, Jason Leblebijian has been very convincing so far.
  5. It looks like a few of the guys basically just moved up as a result of higher ranked rookies graduating. That looks to be the case with Gurriel, Foley and Tellez, considering they're all in the same-ish range and all moved up the same-ish number of spots.
  6. Meh, Smyly is garbage; they're basically out three starters + Cishek and Haniger. The Jays are out three starters + Donaldson, Tulo, Martin, Morales and Pompey. The Mariners aren't in a good position but they aren't nearly as hurt as the Jays.
  7. Bo Bichette makes his debut and Vladdy climbs to #16 as part of the six Blue Jays to make the list. #16 - Vladimir Guerrero (previous: 20) #34 - Anthony Alford (previous: 59) #68 - Lourdes Gurriel (previous: 73) #70 - Sean Reid-Foley (previous: 75) #89 - Rowdy Tellez (previous: 95) #93 - Bo Bichette (previous: unranked) Full list: http://www.baseballamerica.com/minors/top-100-prospects-updated-may-11/#bo1psVWXkdqiUp3F.97
  8. I haven't been following the Mariners lately, can you explain what you mean by "more injured than we are"? Looking at their lineup and seeing Segura, Cano, Cruz, Seager and Valencia all slotted in makes it hard for me to see how they're hurting more than the Jays.
  9. Well, Ramirez was literal garbage last year and plenty of clubs haven't found him to be worth a roster spot, so "marginal upgrade" may be the most flattering way you could put that move. I hate Tepera but even if he's worth nothing in the clubhouse, it's probably not worth showing players that they're basically livestock to swap them out for guys who probably suck just as much. Besides, Ramirez will probably make it through waivers so they'll likely still have the option to switch him out with Tepera if they really need to.
  10. Grabbed a GIF of Joe Smith's insane K on Edwin with that nasty sweeping slider: http://i.imgur.com/7Hc7mWc.gif Video highlight with commentary: https://streamable.com/pomk8
  11. The qualifier I used was "if the Jays aren't going to compete this year." If this team isn't going to make the playoffs then I'd rather they finish with a high draft pick than string together a few s***** win streaks and finish 5 games below .500. People can talk about how there's no tanking in baseball but year after year players like Bryant, Correa, Cole and Machado are available at the top of the draft. Nobody would care about "embarrassing the franchise" if it resulted in a better outlook for the team. My bad if that's how it was intended, but it was phrased strangely if it was.
  12. 11 isn't a "really high pick". Harvey, Machado, Taillon and Harper were all off the board by that point.
  13. I'm honestly going to be a little triggered if a team like the Giants ends up getting a top 3 draft pick. If the Jays aren't going to compete this year, I'd have no problem seeing them slide to the bottom of the standings and get a good f***ing pick for once. This is a team that has never had a #1 overall pick in its history, and hasn't picked above 4th since 1982.
  14. People are finally listening to Donaldson, who's been harping on about elevating the ball for 2-3 years now.
