  1. A lot can change by the time 2018 draft rolls around. I don't watch prospects but I have been reading / following names for this draft. J.J. Schwarz was touted to be a potential no. 1 or at least top 5-10 pick for this year's draft a year ago. Now he isn't even isn't even projected for the 1st round. The most interesting names to watch are probably Seth Beer, Brady Singer (previously drafted by the Jays) and Tristan Pompey (Pompey's younger brother). There is a lot more resource online that you can find then I could provide lol.
  2. MLB has released their top 100 for the draft: http://m.mlb.com/prospects/2017?list=draft
  3. Clarke Schmidt, conversation for a 1st rounder, needs TJS. http://www.baseballamerica.com/draft/clarke-schmidt-tommy-john-surgery/ Will be interesting to see if this hurts his stock at all. I think teams are being less risk averse to TJS guys.
  4. Look man, the jays are 5-13 and the worst team in the league. Just tell me Bradley Jones is a mix of Goldy/Harper/Trout/Zobrist/Kershaw. I want to hear the sweet whispers of nothing.
  5. I hope the Jays can draft Jake this year and Seth next year. I just really want a professional jersey with "Burger" and "Beer" on the back.
  6. Ouch... not that I care about Baltimore Orioles, but hope Jones is okay.
  7. Jays are in an interesting position where half of the roster is controllable for a decent while. When was the last time a team a rebuilding team traded pitchers that had years of control? I am not disagreeing with what you are saying, I am just wondering if there has ever been an example of it.
  8. You know they will.
  9. Thanks for doing these King. If I could give out MVP awards, you'd my 2nd pick. I am no. 1, of course.
  10. I recall reading somewhere that Bo would tone down his leg-kick but he had no leg-kick on that HR.

  12. All we gotta do now is have the 29 other MLB teams tweet s*** to his mom. Stroman4CY2017!!
  13. The Jays need to give some bats back to Arenado. Has not had a good tourny.
  14. I guess you could say that she is SMOAKing. Aweeeee yeah!
  15. BA released its 2017 mock for the top 10 picks. I admit, I don't follow the players closely as others on here but surprised to see a name I hadn't before: Austin Beck. Going 5th to Atlanta. http://www.baseballamerica.com/draft/2017-mock-major-league-baseball-draft-first-ten-picks/
  16. But, wouldn't that process be the reason the Jays were able to get Alfrod and Tellez? Was there not more to Singer as well? I recall he said he would sign but Jays pulled out due to medicals or am I imagining that bit?
  17. Not sure on the depth of coverage this site has, but found some interesting reads: http://www.scout.com/mlb/scouting/story/1716402-mlb-draft-top-50-prospects-41-50 http://www.scout.com/mlb/scouting/story/1718366-mlb-draft-top-50-prospects-31-40 http://www.scout.com/mlb/scouting/story/1742059-mailbag-mlb-draft-2017
  18. Guys, I want the season to start now. I thought the offseason wouldn't be that long... i was wrong. So VERY WRONG! :'(
  19. Indians sign Austin Jackson to a minor league deal: http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/01/indians-nearing-deal-with-austin-jackson.html Damn Cleveland.. good sign.
  20. I do wonder how much of Jose wanting to be in LF is media driven. He was open to moving as a leadoff hitter, brought it up to Gibby and has played 1B in the past. I am sure even he realizes that he'll be more productive in 1B than LF in the long run. Either way, hopefully it is on a good term. I wanted the pick, but at the end of the day am secretly happy that we get to keep my favorite player!

  22. To add, Yan Gomes also provided 7.8 WAR + his pitch framing was elite in 2013/2014, probably ended up at 10+ WAR (my math could be terribly wrong). Even if you add Aviles' -1.5 WAR for CLE, they still come out on top over Esmil Rogers' solid 0.2 WAR for the Jays. While the Marlin's also traded Desclafani, he is a solid no. 3 pitcher, already having 3.1 and 2 WAR seasons. I'd say AA lost a lot of players which had high value, more than he gained in his tenure. The rest of "we needed a push" / "he put us over the top" etc. I won't get into.
  23. Could you provide me a few examples? I am just looking over his trade history and see guys with a lot of value being moved. He certainly had his "amazing" trades like Donaldson and Travis but overall...
  24. Something haha. Got you now tho. Thanks for sharing it! Was interesting indeed.
