    Happ is exactly the same as last year, he gets to 2 strikes, tries to be perfect and messes everything up while exploding his pitch count.

    To be honest, i'm not sure that was the problem. If you look at Buehrle, the guy doesn't care about what he's going to pitch, just the quality of his pitches. So he let JP do all the game calling/thinking and it worked just fine most of the time. I think JP problem was that he focused too much on his game calling that he neglected completely his bet.

    I wouldn't be surprised if the "AI" is actually Beeston himself and there is no AI.

    Maybe another reason they keep him around is because they acknowledge they botched his development?

    That's exactly my point, it looks as if nobody was working on his bet ever. It's like they kept him around just for his defense and ignored everything else, nobody bothered to develop him which makes some sense knowing the club.
