Yea, they probably wanted to see that his D stays the same and that he's able to make some sort of progress with the hitting coach.
On the other hand, Kratz seems to be a pleasant surprise.
That's not a bad thing, the team invested in R.A and they now trying to get any edge they can on the other teams. Maybe if given enough time by the time R.A retires we have someone else instead of him that other teams do not.
