Was he born substantially more talented at baseball than the average human being? Sure, it's very likely that he was. However, I don't think it's reasonable to believe that he was born with an innate ability to throw a fastball at 97+ mph with great command, or be able to spin arguably the best breaking ball in baseball. That comes from putting in work. I would have imagined that you, having played at a competitive level of baseball, would have agreed with this sentiment.
Also, I didn't say he worked harder than anyone else, but to throw around the makeup issue like he's just some kid who won't listen to valuable advice from coaches which will help him improve his game is ludicrous imo. He's an elite talent, who cares if he might be a little cocky?
