  1. Yup, against RHP this lineup was scary. Against LHP it was murderer's row.
  2. Do we really, though? Bautista, EE, Donaldson and Tulo all hit at a significantly above-average level against both RHP and LHP (Tulo is the worst against RHP, with a career 115 wRC+ against them). Meanwhile, Heyward and Davis are both below league average in their careers against LHP, showing significant splits as most lefty hitters do (I'm assuming this out of intuition). You can put a LOOGY in an important spot against Davis and suddenly the latter is not as effective/dangerous (still has tremendous power obviously), but you put a right-handed reliever against any of JB, JD, EE or Tulo and they're all still elite hitters, as we saw many times this year. Brett Cecil against Chris Davis wasn't even fair.
  3. Um, yes? The Kansas City Royals did that and they won the World Series that way...
  4. What are you saying? People don't want Jason Heyward because omg dem fancy stats. His addition of Wins Above Replacement are just as important as whatever other starter you might sign that gives you similar value. Jason Heyward would make this team noticeably better than a lower tier starter would.
  5. Wins man, wins. You take them however they come.
  6. First loss of the season against the Magic, that sucks. Game notes: -Joseph was amazing -Derozan was once again very good at getting to the line, not many selfish shots taken by him -Carroll struggled on offense and it hurt us, but oh well, everyone has those games -Ross and Patterson need to pull it together -Scola and Biyombo should never take a shot
  7. Lot of contact on that last possession, no call lol.
  8. Tough game for Carroll, he's missed a lot of open looks.
  9. Biyombo just shouldn't be allowed to take shots.
  10. Joseph was a great addition.
  11. FFS Scola.
  12. JV absolutely beasting.
  13. Why is Scola getting so many shooting opportunities? Jesus Christ, it's awful.
  14. Cecil, like any other elite reliever, is most valuable by putting him in high-leverage situations. Whether this is in the 9th, 8th, 7th, etc. inning is irrelevant. Cecil was absolutely dominant when put in the toughest spots in the game.
  15. Remember that half a season of Andrew Miller returned Eduardo Rodriguez. Chapman is one of the most skilled pitchers in baseball, Cincinnati will surely look for a significant return for him.
  16. It's not like he's fat though. If you've ever seen him, he's lean and in excellent shape. If you take someone like Bautista, not nearly as athletic as Heyward but still manages to keep himself in great shape. Now, give Bautista Heyward's defensive instincts (reads/jumps, efficient routes) and you have a fantastic defender. Heyward isn't elite just because he's fast, but he covers so much ground in part because he reads the ball off the bat well and takes great routes to the baseball.
  17. At this rate they might even be overtaken by the Toronto FC lol.
  18. This team might be good.
  19. Westbrook honestly lost this game for OKC. He tried to play hero ball the whole game, whereas Durant is much more controlled all the time.
  20. At least the refs started recognizing Westbrook's massive flops. Fantastic game.
  21. Just great. The ref is a little bitch, Lowry hurt his feelings.
  22. Nice superstar call.
  23. The defense has been stellar.
  24. Lowry breathed on him. How is that a foul?
