  1. Betances is out there alternating between 101 and an absolutely nasty breaking ball. To do what Bautista just did requires a lot of talent.
  2. f***ing right! Beautiful piece of hitting!
  3. He doesn't make mistakes on the bases is more of where I'm coming from. Okay elite was probably pushing it way too far.
  4. Except Betances is one of the best pitchers in baseball. Not really the same situation.
  5. That was a bit scary going to third, but at least he recognized that Didi had to move to his left.
  6. Donaldson is a f***ing monster. Elite baserunner to go along with all of his other skills.
  7. I'm really surprised he didn't use the power curve at all there. I think he throws it even over the heart of the plate and unless JD is fully sitting on it, he stood no chance.
  8. I guess it's entirely possible that he's playing the long game.
  9. Being the hottest hitter in the league doesn't really mean anything, it's what you expect him to be. I'm not any less scared if Miguel Cabrera, Paul Goldschmidt, Mike Trout or Giancarlo Stanton come up to hit whether they're 0 for their last 30 or 15 for their last 15. Also, were you advocating for an IBB? That's just as bad as bunting runners over.
  10. Gibby really goes full retard sometimes with his trust circle. Play the matchups, Benoit is not Osuna.
  11. Because he's prone to striking out?
  12. Awful chase/good pitch there.
  13. He aired out a lob to Donaldson, it had way too much hang time and wasn't really on line with the base. Sometimes it's better to throw an accurate one-hopper than to do what he did.
  14. That was a terrible throw dude, had Gardner gone Donaldson wouldn't have been able to meet him at third with the ball.
  15. Carrera is making awful throws in the outfield. Stop airing out the f***ing ball.
  16. Especially being in Miami. Jose Fernandez represented the spirit of a Cuban baseball player. From all the hardships he faced just to make it to the US, let alone to have the talent and work ethic necessary to become one of baseball's brightest young stars. Meanwhile he was always enjoying himself out there on the mound and on the bench among his teammates. This is a tragic loss to the sport, may he RIP.
  17. Wow, I had not realized how much defensive stats absolutely hate Didi Gregorious' season, -10 DRS. Was surprised to see him only being worth 2.4 WAR despite an improvement in his offensive game.
  18. Isn't his framing above-average? I think he just sucks at blocking pitches, but if he works on it he has a chance to be a decent defensive catcher with good framing and a good arm.
  19. Well that makes two of us lol.
  20. I probably should have left out "about this" in my post.
  21. You're super annoying about this.
  22. The only time all afternoon that he actually caught a breaking ball in the zone for a strike was when Grilli had to lob one at the middle of the plate because Navarro had flopped the previous one to the ground.
  23. He can't, he just can't. It's awful, I've been screaming at my TV all day because of it.
  24. Yeah Billy Butler is garbage.
