  1. Yeah but... it's James Loney. You finish him up quickly and force the pitcher to lead off next inning.
  2. Guys, I'm not watching the game at the moment, just took a quick glance at Gameday. Is my lack of sleep acting up or did Madison Bumgarner just IBB James Loney with 2 outs?
  3. Again, they weren't the same team in the first half as they were in the second half. The addition of Lucroy, Beltran and Darvish - along with a resurgent Carlos Gomez - while removing Prince Fielder is a huge boost. Their offense should be expected to be much better than it was early in the season.
  4. Yeah that would be the optimal way for them to go. But who knows, teams make puzzling decisions sometimes, even in the playoffs.
  5. I feel like there's this notion that Hamels is better or has more vetrin presents than Darvish, which would be very good for the Jays if this makes the Rangers use two junky starters instead of 4/5 from their good ones.
  6. I'll just accept this L.
  7. It's amazing to me how none of them seem to give any credit whatsoever to their own players for how far they made it this year. All the credit goes to Buck Showalter. Without him they're at best "75-78 wins", with him they're a WC team. Their worship of him is absolutely ridiculous. They talk as if being a good manager -which is definitely debatable whether he is or isn't- actually has any impact on team W-L record, let alone being 10 wins better than their supposed talent level (where this would in fact just mean that a lot of luck was involved rather than shrewd managerial moves).
  8. Lmao, touche.
  9. I can guarantee you that the Texas Rangers will not hesitate to start their best pitcher as soon as the opportunity presents itself.
  10. You can't make some of this stuff up. 10 WAR MANAGER
  11. No, if Zach Britton starts out the 11th inning and by some miracle the Blue Jays score a run or someone hits a homerun (same thing), I can guarantee you that no one with half a brain would blame Buck Showalter for using the single biggest asset that he owns in his pitching staff. We're not even comparing using Givens, O'Day or Brad Brach - admittedly excellent relievers in their own right - to not using Britton, but rather UBALDO JIMENEZ, who was dragged out to the extent of having multiple double play opportunities following meatball after meatball, over using one of the best pitchers in baseball this season, who also happens to be maybe the best groundball pitcher of all time. This was an indefensible decision with given arguments that should be a fireable offense on the spot.
  12. What? Yu is great, probably a lot better than Hamels actually.
  13. Another key difference: Osuna likely would have remained in the game for longer had he not been removed due to an apparent injury.
  14. I think my neighbours just called the police on me and my family.
  15. EDWIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! f*** you Buck Showalter hahahaha!!!! Ubaldo LMFAO WITH BRITTON IN THE BULLPEN!!!! LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
  16. Brandon McCarthy continues to be awesome.
  17. Jesus Christ, please be some ******** cramp. Not having Osuna is a big hit.
  18. I wouldn't put it past some random drunk guy, but I do believe the majority of Canadians - Torontonians or not - would never result to throwing racial slurs. I don't think I've heard a racial slur said unironically since like Grade 6.
  19. I seriously doubt that, in one of the most multicultural cities in the world, racial slurs are not a common occurrence here.
  20. I actually seriously doubt that. Awful and corny insults maybe but I really doubt racial slurs are being thrown around.
  21. That part is excusable at least. Realistically only about <10% of the fans in the stadium have an okay view of the strikezone to determine whether the umpire is doing his job. They're just reacting based on Martin, the pitcher and the hitter's reactions.
  22. No, he has every right to be pissed. That is absolutely unacceptable and has no business happening in any ballpark or arena.
  23. Oh my f***ing god, that is seriously f***ed. Makes our fans look like the idiots that they are. That fan needs to be charged.
