  1. George Springer comeback season continues in full force.
  2. Another terrific swing from Gimenez, surely that's gone in an average summer night.
  3. Santander now would be a great time to make your presence known on this lineup.
  4. Nice to see the power stroke from Bo on consecutive ABs.
  5. It's raining sideways in the background of Hazel Mae's pregame report lol.
  6. It's actively snowing in Detroit as the Yankees face the Tigers. Temp of 5 C, feels like -1. That must be miserable for all involved.
  7. Romano has had a rough start to his Phillies tenure. Average fastball velo is 94.5 - down 2 mph from last season, swinging strike rate far below his career average. Touched up by the Dodgers yesterday. 4 IP 6 K 4 BB 1 HBP 1 HR 15.75 ERA/6.46 xERA 7.09 FIP/4.98 xFIP
  8. There's quite a bit of money coming off the books at the end of 2025 and then again in 2026. If Gimenez slides over to SS (assuming Bo is as good as gone) and we can develop a starting pitcher (or three) it would mitigate the losses and give us some breathing room to use the payroll efficiently to round out the rest of the roster.
  9. The prince that was promised.
  10. It sucks but it is possible to come out ahead here. The team is 5-5 despite getting piss all from their 2, 3 and 5 hitters. Not gonna score many runs with those spots in the lineup providing nothing. Vlad and Santander have the track record to put it together, and the former loves hitting at Fenway. Kirk needs to pull it together, his consistently awful ABs with runners on has been pissing me off. There were so many instances of him coming up in a big spot and striking out in a bad way, popping it up or hitting a weak groundball. Pull it together Kirk! Despite the brutal result the pitching held their own in New York. It's probably gonna be slugfests rather than pitching duels since Fenway contests always play out like a Coors lite when these two teams are involved. The offense needs to wake up, from the power department especially.
  11. After his 4 double performance yesterday, he now has a higher ISO than all but 3 Blue Jays lol. Kill me.
  12. Gotta take a big hit of copium and hope that now that the contract stuff is out of the way, he can play with that weight off his shoulder and start performing care-free. Vlad was a top 5 hitter last year when the season was out of reach, let's hope this time he returns to that level since now he's extra set for generations to come.
  13. Vlad up 2-1 in the count and he rolls over a s***** little changeup off the plate on a bad one handed swing. Just no game plan or plan of attack whatsoever.
  14. Bassitt’s had an incredible start to the season.
  15. He got signed and DFA'd within like two days. Basically just filler until Devin Williams returned from paternity leave.
  16. If he can’t hit lefties then he literally has no utility on the team. You can’t justify pinch hitting him over a lefty hitter against right handed pitching, the only guys you’d feel more comfortable against RHP are Straw and Heineman, maybe Ernie, and he can’t cover their positions. He’s not an MLB player if he’s a RHH with little defensive utility, a mediocre baserunner and also can’t be trusted in a platoon role.
  17. Rockies call up Chase Dollander. I thought this signaled an usual fumble of theirs in missing the PPI, but it seems the prospect just needs to be called up within 2 weeks of Opening Day. Although in either case, what further info could they have gotten from the 4 IP he pitched in AAA to begin the season? lol Good luck winning ROY or finishing top 3 in Cy Young voting as a Rockies pitcher, however.
  18. No, but Springer in CF is likely our most optimal lineup construction for the time being, at least if he's not out there every single day. Straw essentially replaces Ernie in the lineup, and the latter has a bit more offensive upside with pretty good defense to go along with it, plus we downgrade the 3B defense with Wagner in the field.
  19. This is a lateral move at best. Springer projects much better than Straw even in CF. Ernie is a great defender who helps hide Bo a bit, and Wagner as capable as he's looked is probably fine just DH'ing for now.
  20. Oh yeah it makes sense that it's been posted when it did. I just thought it was a typical 7 pm game and got thrown off by the lineup being made available at 11 am.
  21. Just realized this game is at 3 pm ET, was wondering why the lineup got posted this early.
