  1. Is anyone actually a fan of Waguespack? I've actually been rather impressed with him. Considering he's a mop up/long man and keeps getting dicked around between the taxi squad and the active roster he's gotten more swings and misses than I expected and ate up some necessary innings. Not the worst guy in his current role and the projections aren't awful. He has a nice enough pitch mix that he isn't just getting rocked all the time.
  2. His average EV and hard hit rates are both elite. I know he gets shifted, but his xWOBA going into this game was like .376. He hits the ball quite hard when he connects.
  3. I saw it too, but I think it was just speculation. Why would a team in the Angels' position move a good, cheap young player like him? Doesn't really make any sense.
  4. A lot. He's an elite defender all over the field, an average hitter who can show more from time to time and never strikes out, and he's young and cheap. Probably not worth the prospect capital to acquire. The Angels aren't likely to move a guy like that.
  5. It seems like years since the last time we caught a break like that. Finally we're on the other end of those.
  6. f*** off Drury, if you're gonna put a garbage swing on a 2-0 count the least you could do is put some effort into beating it out.
  7. Encouraging seeing Teoscar and Gurriel both draw some walks.
  8. This is probably a good time to point out that Travis Shaw has the 14th highest average EV in the league among qualified hitters.
  9. Grichuk destroyed the ball his last AB, 110.7 mph. Nice triple Vlad.
  10. Ah, pitchers. The one true constant.
  11. I think even more embarrassing are the Angels' odds. You're telling me a team with two of the best players in baseball along with a pretty solid offensive core can't even sniff the playoffs when half the league can make it in? Pathetic.
  12. Another elite plate appearance by Biggio. Yawn.
  13. Lol he's shaking like five pitches at a time from McGuire.
  14. That first pitch curveball to Brosseau was filthy.
  15. Probably could have gotten a second strikeout there, but ace Ryu has officially arrived it seems.
  16. Charlie opened his third eye and foresaw Cavan coming up in exactly this spot. How can we question a manager with such foresight.
  17. Can this outfield f*** off? God damn it, brutal luck.
  18. Finally a god damn CS. We needed that one.
  19. Man we've been crushing the ball all night and not many have actually fallen, so many line drives that the Rays outfield has run down.
  20. The Rays haven't sucked since like 2008, and I have no memory of how we fared against them when they were brutal. They've consistently had our number since they broke out as a contending team though.
  21. I know pop ups are good but they aren't classified as strikeouts just yet.
  22. Man Dolis has such wicked stuff, when he has command of it he's a problem to hit or square up.
  23. Kiermaier is so annoying. Nothing gets down when he's out there.
