  1. The Rays started an all-lefty lineup, apparently the first time in MLB history that it's happened.
  2. God damn deGrom's stuff is filthy. The slider inside to left handed batters is unhittable.
  3. Meh, he's a brutal fielder and an average hitter. If you're going to start the same lineup might as well boost the defense on account of not having him out there.
  4. No, he hit a 92.8 mph slider, it came off the bat at 99.4 mph.
  5. Holy f***, Conforto made a mess of that. Vlad has to be at second there too but meh. Good hit.
  6. Yeah I don't have the best feeling of Shaw against deGrom's velocity.
  7. lol Elite defensive catcher Danny Jansen isn't throwing out runners this year but Kirk of all people will fix that problem.
  8. He's been a 2-3 WAR starter exactly once lol.
  9. OG made a key pass to Powell aside from his big 3 after a sweet spin move. I'm not saying hand him the ball and wait for him to make something happen, but he's absolutely a factor on offense with his cuts to the basket and his ice cold demeanour when we need him to hit big shots. He's a lot more than just a corner 3 specialist. He's made big strides offensively.
  10. In 1871 there was a 49-33 game. Of course it was 1871 so that was barely baseball being played at the time, but still counts! https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/just-because-box-score-with-82-runs-74-hits-20-errors/
  11. They've pitched like 20 innings, sinkers aren't conducive to strikeouts in today's game, and neither has good enough command of their primary pitch to get by on velocity and movement alone. Graterol will likely develop the strikeout ability, in the minors it's probably a lot easier to get strikeouts with a 100 mph sinker than in the majors. Treinen might regress to career averages but he's not the same reliever he was two years ago, the lower strikeouts are probably a counter to the reduced walk rate. Dustin May also rarely strikes guys out. I don't think it's necessarily a coaching issue, it's what the player's stuff is about.
  12. Young Roark was no joke. Workhorse 3 WAR innings eaters aren't that common, and Walker has never showed either a higher talent level, or more importantly, the ability to stay healthy. Walker's fastball has always been his calling card, his secondaries have consistently rated poorly.
  13. Porcello hasn't been that bad this season. The underlying numbers suggest he's a lot closer to his average+ innings eater days than last season. His velocity has rebounded as well.
  14. I'm afraid the bad lighting made it so they couldn't see Dolis' pitches
  15. Filthy stuff from Dolis. Just wicked movement, unhittable when he has decent feel for his pitches.
  16. Voit just did a full swing and the ump had to ask the first base ump for a check swing lmao.
  17. That was a f***ing strike!!! We should be out of the inning!
  18. That's legit EV, he didn't cheap into that one.
  19. This umpire is going in raw on us.
  20. Jonathan Davis! Good for him.
  21. Another professional AB.
  22. He geared up for that one. We're lucky to be through 2 without giving up a run.
  23. He made it look awkward but a nice play all in all.
  24. Walker doesn't have it at all, the defense isn't helping. Just not a great recipe.
