    Ray's average fastball velocity in his career is 94.1 mph, he's hit 96-97 pretty routinely throughout. The stuff is good.

    I think it's pretty widely accepted that for hitting prospects that you care about their first AB should come in a start or at least in a competitive spot. If Kirk comes up down 17-1 and gets his first major league hit the accomplishment is diminished and it won't be celebrated as much since the team is getting their ass whooped and both teams just want to leave.

    God damn deGrom's stuff is filthy. The slider inside to left handed batters is unhittable.

    Meh, he's a brutal fielder and an average hitter. If you're going to start the same lineup might as well boost the defense on account of not having him out there.

    lol Elite defensive catcher Danny Jansen isn't throwing out runners this year but Kirk of all people will fix that problem.
