  1. OG made a key pass to Powell aside from his big 3 after a sweet spin move. I'm not saying hand him the ball and wait for him to make something happen, but he's absolutely a factor on offense with his cuts to the basket and his ice cold demeanour when we need him to hit big shots. He's a lot more than just a corner 3 specialist. He's made big strides offensively.
  2. In 1871 there was a 49-33 game. Of course it was 1871 so that was barely baseball being played at the time, but still counts! https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/just-because-box-score-with-82-runs-74-hits-20-errors/
  3. They've pitched like 20 innings, sinkers aren't conducive to strikeouts in today's game, and neither has good enough command of their primary pitch to get by on velocity and movement alone. Graterol will likely develop the strikeout ability, in the minors it's probably a lot easier to get strikeouts with a 100 mph sinker than in the majors. Treinen might regress to career averages but he's not the same reliever he was two years ago, the lower strikeouts are probably a counter to the reduced walk rate. Dustin May also rarely strikes guys out. I don't think it's necessarily a coaching issue, it's what the player's stuff is about.
  4. Young Roark was no joke. Workhorse 3 WAR innings eaters aren't that common, and Walker has never showed either a higher talent level, or more importantly, the ability to stay healthy. Walker's fastball has always been his calling card, his secondaries have consistently rated poorly.
  5. Porcello hasn't been that bad this season. The underlying numbers suggest he's a lot closer to his average+ innings eater days than last season. His velocity has rebounded as well.
  6. I'm afraid the bad lighting made it so they couldn't see Dolis' pitches
  7. Filthy stuff from Dolis. Just wicked movement, unhittable when he has decent feel for his pitches.
  8. Voit just did a full swing and the ump had to ask the first base ump for a check swing lmao.
  9. That was a f***ing strike!!! We should be out of the inning!
  10. That's legit EV, he didn't cheap into that one.
  11. This umpire is going in raw on us.
  12. Jonathan Davis! Good for him.
  13. Another professional AB.
  14. He geared up for that one. We're lucky to be through 2 without giving up a run.
  15. He made it look awkward but a nice play all in all.
  16. Walker doesn't have it at all, the defense isn't helping. Just not a great recipe.
  17. He's completely lost the strikezone. This is SRF esque. Thankfully gets bailed out.
  18. Taijuan living up to his name thus far. Let's get back in the strikezone big guy.
  19. The weirder thing if anything is not flipping Grichuk with Davis in the outfield but Grichuk has been pretty good in CF and they probably don't want to move him around too much so it's not a big deal anyway.
  20. I'm not arguing that him getting into better shape isn't a good thing, and Vladdy shouldn't do the same. Just an interesting observation that he's somehow slower despite being in better shape.
  21. Here's a fun fact: Voit's sprint speed is actually slower this season than it's ever been for him.
  22. It's interesting that historically there have been several good defensive third basemen that can barely move while on the bases. Shaw, Panda, Beltre in his last years. Just a random thought I had. Reaction time must clearly be the winner at that position.
  23. Attaboy Espinal, I can't exactly be mad at Luis Rivera for the aggressive send but with Shaw's speed that's probably an out a not insignificant percentage of the time.
  24. It's fun watching Brett Gardner look like an idiot on the field.
