  1. Walker's peripherals are much worse than his ERA based results indicate. His FIP is fine/average but his xFIP is poor, his command has been iffy with the Blue Jays and he's been walking a lot more. Shoemaker has been beat up by the longball but aside from that his peripherals are pretty good and his sample is pretty small anyway. There shouldn't really be a preference of one over the other, they're not the guys you want starting short series playoff games anyway and I imagine both will be on extremely short leashes unlike Ryu.
  2. This is an excessively boomer post.
  3. Personally, the AL MVP is in Cleveland. Whether that's Jose Ramirez or Shane Bieber I have no real answer to it and would not object to either. Not saying Abreu isn't an excellent candidate, but I don't think he quite lapped the field like Freddie Freeman did.
  4. Patrick Murphy's curveball is dirty.
  5. There's no maybe about it, this game is far from over.
  6. I think they just wanted to rest our key pitchers. If they didn't care about winning this one Gurriel wouldn't be playing and Panik would be in the lineup.
  7. Yamaguchi getting BABIP'd FFS.
  8. The silver lining of this inning is Roark will be near 90 pitches so he can f*** off for the next inning, hopefully Yamaguchi or whoever comes in doesn't s*** the bed.
  9. His contract runs until the end of the 2023 season, and then he has a year of arbitration. In baseball arbitration means the team and the player negotiate a 1-year contract by comparing his performance to other players and the contracts those guys got at the same stage in their career. If the two sides don't come to an agreement then they submit a figure of what they think he's worth and a mediator/arbitrator decides which of the two figures - the one submitted by the team and the other by the player - is fairer value. TL;DR: he's a free agent at the 2025 season.
  10. Uh, Randal? Yeah let's leave these kinds of errors in the regular season lol.
  11. God damn Gurriel. That baseball had a family.
  12. Vlad could not have picked a better time to get hot. If this guy shows up for the playoffs the league is f***ed.
  13. Villar has made some pretty amazing plays lately. He must really hold a grudge against the Orioles for letting him go after an amazing season.
  14. Damn, and there goes Stripling
  15. Unreal throw from Teoscar. Our corner OF have cannon arms.
  16. Grichuk against the Orioles is another kind of animal. Took 99 slightly inside middle of the plate and drives it the other way with authority.
  17. This is such a mid to late 2000s start.
  18. He's really not lol. Jonathan Villar has been a terrible fielder his entire career, no idea where "as good as he once was" is coming from.
  19. Yamaguchi what are you doing bro?
  20. The Orioles are the perfect team to face in a low stress scenario heading into the playoffs. It's like having your personal practice squad, confidence is gonna be sky high going into the first round.
