  1. I think you misread what I said. The umpire had a 93% called strike accuracy, and it says in that circle the average called strike accuracy for the league is 88%, which seems lower than I would have expected.
  2. Wtf the average correct called strike rate is 88%?
  3. Lol I couldn’t disagree more. His stuff is nasty, the splitter has gotten some ugly swings already, fastball is properly located with decent velo (averaging 94.5 mph, higher than last year even), and the third pitch in the slider is not at all a show me pitch. His swinging strike rate is actually higher than last year’s so far. Swanson totally looks like the real deal and a welcome addition to the high leverage innings.
  4. He was traded for, DFA’d in the offseason and then claimed on waivers by the A’s, who non-tendered him before he signed back with us, technically as a free agent.
  5. Jansen has looked pretty lost at the plate. It's early and he's getting sporadic starts so nothing alarming, would be nice to see some power swings the next few starts of his.
  6. I assume Bass didn’t cover in time so Bo didn’t risk an error.
  7. The team had a .369 xBA this game, they completely s*** on the ball. Great game, offense starting to come alive and pitching finally giving us a chance.
  8. 404 feet with an xBA of .890, awful luck for Chapman, he drilled that. Homerun or XBH in most parks.
  9. The Phillies bullpen is god awful.
  10. I'm surprised he was assigned to AAA and not flipped with Lukes on the MLB roster. Maybe they want to see if he still has a pulse before putting him into a spot where he'd be expected to contribute. Good depth for sure.
  11. It's honestly pretty shocking to me that a team like the Yankees is starting Franchy Cordero in 2023. Like yeah Harrison Bader is injured, but that's your best internal option to fill in the outfield for you?
  12. Why is Christian Pache starting against Gerrit Cole? Is Brandon Marsh injured or something?
  13. Honestly credit to him for putting up almost 10 WAR after he left us and all the drama surrounding his leg injuries, before being traded to the Yankees and turning into a pumpkin who’s also a headcase.
  14. Not exactly a shocker given that he's 37 now, but Josh Donaldson looks pretty washed.
  15. Chapman is one of the most dominant relievers of all time. If his control isn’t awful he’s still a very valuable arm.
  16. The 99 wasn’t really the issue, it was that he was nowhere near the zone last year. He’s still practically unhittable if he’s even half controlling his pitches.
  17. Good start, 97 comebacker sinker for the K in a perfect spot.
  18. Really need a decent outing from Mayza here.
  19. Like, he wasn’t lights out. He did well relative to last year but didn’t get that many whiffs and missed his spot a few times that luckily didn’t get punished. It was about to be his third time through the order against a bunch of righties.
  20. To be fair it would be the third time through the order and he has missed with a few of his pitches. I agree with you but I think it’s reasonable to take him out here and let him end it on a high note.
  21. Would be great to tack on a pair, support your starter!
  22. Great pitch, two perfectly located sliders that AB. Well done Kikuchi.
  23. Nice high heater. Let’s get out of this one.
  24. He’s missing really high with the slider.
