  1. Unless he said something that wasn't heard on the mics that crossed a line it might just be the short fused/ego of the ump tossing someone for questioning his call. That or maybe the umps are getting tired this late in the year and aren't giving as much slack?
  2. You could hear a fair amount of that convo and it didn't sound like he did/said anything to get tossed.
  3. A's claimed Escobar trying to get someone to bring in the offense. I guess many on here were correct when they said the Lester deal would cost them runs.
  4. Talking about fatigue and Navarro shows he's not with that liner.
  5. *Head meet desk* I say that and the DP gets overturned ugh.
  6. The BJ's mlb site has Santos listed on the 40 and 25 man rosters and the roster being full at 40. Maybe ESPN is a bit behind? They'll have to remove someone if they bring Morrow off the 60 day DL. I can see Johnson, Hynes, Hague, Mastroianni as options to be DFA or maybe Johnson or Lawrie transferred to the 60. AA had 3 open spots only to fill them with Hynes, Hague and now Santos. Depends on what AA wants to do. If any of those guys aren't in the plans for next year, and lets face it Hynes, Hague, Mastro don't seem to be since they're depth moves a spot could open. I'm not sure if they could put Wagner on the 60 since they'd have to recall him and place him on the DL which would also cost them more money since it would count towards his MLB service time and they could use the excuse he was hurt in the minors so it doesn't count. I could be wrong. I'd rather them leave Norris in the minors let him rest up and try winning a spot next year. The Jays are all but out of the race and he's not going to make or break the team. If they want to add him to the roster they can do so in the off season or wait until spring if he wins a spot.
  7. HUtch looks like he's doing well so far (just got in for the game).
  8. Maybe AA is hoping he can call him up, maybe get a clean inning, put him on waivers, have another team claim him and get out of the money owed including the buyout a la Rogers.
  9. Damn! I missed an interesting game today. Two games under protest this year? Has that ever happened in Jays' history?
  10. I have that fear. He'll base it off his outings in AAA, claim the market is short for "decent" or "solid" relievers, a handful of innings he pitches when he's back, or what he "could" put up if not injured and sucking out loud. Or worse anoint him closer since CJ will likely leave town the day the season ends.
  11. Oh s***. Why? Oh, AA must be looking at that ERA. Unless someone is hurt they couldn't have waited until Sept 1 to bring him back? I'm going to assume someone in the pen might have tweaked something and/or they feel they need an extra arm. Maybe AA is panicking over CJ blowing a save
  12. Well, I guess next year will have to be "the year" then? Maybe sometime soon?
  13. So, if the Royals manage to make the playoffs this year, will that make the Jays the only team in the past 20 not to make at least one appearance?
