1. Heard calls between 91mph-96mph on his FB. The announcers were drooling over his stuff.
2. The runs were kind of BS too. Sac Fly in the 1st. In the 3rd a fielding error extended the inning, then misses turning the DP, steals home for the run. Two swinging K's in the inning. 3. Hahaha that's gold. This should be sticky'ed beside the top prospects.
4. I'm part Irish, sounds like a nice Sunday afternoon
5. Can't play it on here. It's already a s*** show.
6. Hutch's final line;

[TH=bgcolor: #000000, colspan: 12]New Hampshire Fisher Cats[/TH]

Player IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA

Drew Hutchison 4.1 3 2 1 1 7 0 4.70

Pitches-strikes: Hutchison 75-47
7. Could play it like baseball even. Every event has an assigned # of bases. Each run scored = a drink. #1 - Every ball/strike called argued = a single #2 - Defensive miscue = a single #3 - Baserunning error = a double #4 - Every IP by a SP = double; scoreless IP = triple #5 - Ejection/benches clearing = HR #6 - Showing up your teammates = HR
8. Probably about time to start a 2013 BJ drinking game. Booze are necessary to watch this team for a whole game.
9. Hutch and Norris take the mound this afternoon. Both games have already started. Lansing has a free radio broadcast for those who are feeling lazy this Sunday here is the link; http://tunein.com/player/station/198314/?partnerId=pe6Zjasg&utm_source=MILB&utm_medium=PopupLink&utm_content=PopupLink&utm_campaign=Lansing_Lugnuts Norris FB working in the low-to-mid 90's so far today. According to the broadcasters through 3IP "no Tin Caps player has looked comfortable today", raving about Norris' stuff. Has gotten ahead of most batters so far. Seems like he may have started to turn a corner in his development.
10. He has options and the BP is taxed. Send him down for the BP help they need right now and call him back up in 10 days or whenever they need him after that.
11. Ya, it's been terrible so far. Hasn't pitched since April 2012 and in pro ball at all yet though. If Smoral is still this wild at the end of the month I'll be more concerned. Definitely didn't come in and take the world by storm like I thought he might. haha
12. That was pretty amazing, I would love if Rogers added something like that to there broadcast. I found the zoom outs to show the fielders after contact and the broken bat cut especially entertaining. The quality and detail of the images was phenomenal as well.
13. Ah, ok gotcha. Thanks for explaining, now I know. I wasn't doing the calculation just trying to show where the formula can be negative. IMO it helps to visualize what pitchers control to prevent runs and what they control to let up runs. It was definitely misleading to not include the constant.
14. Ya, I didn't have the constant so I was speaking in generalities. Should've included "plus a constant" in my original post to make it clear.
15. Ah ok I get what you are correcting now. Yes, that's very true. Where did you get the 2013 scaling constant value from? Or did you just use the historical average?
16. Still to have a negative FIP you have to have a a negative numerator. You can't have x/IP + 3.2 be negative unless the numerator is negative.
17. Still IP has to be positive. You can't throw a negative amount of innings...
18. Curious how the denominator, IP + 3.2, could be negative. It has to be a positive number. Therefore to have a negative FIP the numerator would have to be negative. or (13*HR + 3*(BB+HBP) - 2*K) would have to be negative.
19. It means this; Is negative. ie) 13*HR + 3*(BB+HBP) < 2*K
20. Depends what the scouts say. If they say he's MLB ready AA will drool and make a pitch. If they think he needs MiLB time they'll probably spend the money to help them win now.
21. Walden and Labourt take the mound tonight. Brentz and Smoral already threw today.

[TH=bgcolor: #000000, colspan: 12]GCL Blue Jays[/TH]

Player IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA

Corey Gorman 5.0 6 3 2 1 4 0 1.69

Jacob Brentz 1.0 0 0 0 2 2 0 36.00

Matthew Smoral 0.1 1 4 3 1 0 0 9.26

Brentz had a decent outing. Struggled with his command to the tune of 2BB's and a hit batter. Got out of the inning without giving up a hit or run though. Drew Longley hit by pitch. Jacob Kapstein to 2nd. Rashad Brown walks. Jacob Kapstein to 3rd. Drew Longley to 2nd. Javier Betancourt flies out to right fielder Andres De Aza. Ismael Salgado walks. Jesus Ustariz hit by pitch. Ismael Salgado to 2nd. Jose Zambrano out on a sacrifice bunt, third baseman Edwin Fuentes to second baseman John Tolisano. Ismael Salgado to 3rd. 22. No worries. I just figured out how to get tables in to my posts so you can expect a lot more!
23. Need the extra arm when your rotation goes back-to-back days without making it to the 4th.
24. Looks like it's going to be Lincoln for the next few days to add another arm to the BP. It seems like they will need a SP to come up for a spot start before Happ is ready to return. IMO it's going ti be a guy they Jays have already burned an option on (makes more sense than burning an option for one start). My money is on Nolin coming up but, I could see Stroman also getting the call. Sucks that Dusty just went on the DL, perfect chance to give him a start.
