  1. You don't like them. I think the vast majority of us are apathetic and I don't really understand what you think this accomplishes. How is mockery on an internet forum a reality check? It's not going to do anything. Lastly, I'm glad you recognize it for what it is but don't think I'm embarrassed. This message board is in no way a representative of myself, the Jays' fanbase or Toronto as a whole.
  2. I enjoyed the thread. However, at this point it's run it's course and well past being humorous. I don't consider that vanilla fandom, I consider it having the self-awareness to realize when a joke has reached it's expiry date.
  3. Then you'd know that this thread bounces between mocking OH, the O;s front office, the BAL players/mgmt and their fanbase.
  4. I have no qualms with the thread but it feels like beating a dead horse at this point. Do we want them posting here? I'm happy that they're contained to their little pen and don't really want them spilling out nor do I want to lure them over.
  5. Unfortunately I replied at the beginning and I have a bad habit of reading threads I've replied to. I ignored it for close to a month now, I think we allg et it. OH is a bunch of homers. Weams says ridiculous things. Move along.
  6. It's certianly an aspect King but scroll through. There is tons of bashing their fanbase. That's not really why I was chiming in though. The weekly updates to this thread have become annoying. Who cares what they think, who cares what they post. It's unnecessary and petty at this point. Just enjoy the Jays and let them do their thing.
  7. Exactly right but is that actually what's going on in this thread?
  8. Did you read the thread?
  9. How is that OH thread any different than this thread? Kind of hypocritical to mock them for disliking our fanbase when we have a whole thread devoted to denigrating their fanbase.
  10. I think he lines up with Estrada's day in the rotation pretty well; Stroman: Aug 21st, Aug 26th, Aug 31st, Sept 5th, Sept 10th --> 1st potential start after rosters expand Estrada: Aug 27th, Sept 1st, Sept 6th, Sept 11th. There is an off-day on September 3rd which is going to throw some things out of whack.
  11. If he's healthy the plan is to bring him back as a starter http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/08/anthopoulos-marcus-stroman-could-return-in-september.html
  12. This team with a healthy Sto is going to be scary..
  13. I've waited 22yrs for a team this good and Toronto may never field another lineup of this calibre. Let's enjoy it while it lasts!
  14. This is a great team. It's the best Jays team since '93 hands down.
  15. I guess so? I don't think it's rose coloured glasses to get excited about this team. It's completely different than past rosters and very very good.
  16. Players on the current roster on the team in; 2014 - 18 2013 - 11 2012 - 7 2011 - 3 2010 - 3 Kind of silly to compare past seasons when the roster has seen such extreme turn over. 65% turnover from 2014 and 93% turnover from 2011.
  17. They added a bunch of guys they felt would peak at the same time and push them in to contention. Obviously they wanted to contend beyond 2013 but it worked out great for them.
  18. Beane didn't want to trade Donaldson. AA made him an offer he felt was too good to pass up.
  19. They won a WS bc of those contracts who cares about surplus value over the span of the contract.
  20. If Buehrle wants a coaching gig he'll have his pick of all 30 MLB teams. He could coach for the Jays but it's unlikely
  21. He threw today and he's scheduled for Aug 21st. I was more thinking after the 21st.
  22. I haven't heard anything. I imagine they'll wait to see how his arm responds before announcing a timeline.
  23. My response got deleted when I went to make an edit. I'm on mobile and it was long so I'm not going to repute the whole thing. I admit there is a degree of bad luck but there have been lapses of talent all season long. DIPS treat these lapses as bad luck but he's just not executing at an MLB level in small stretches. I like Hutch and I am hopeful he has figured out what was causing the inconsistency. Id love some more strong performances down the stretch. If he does keep it up he'd be my #3 starter in the playoffs.
  24. Because he's pitching poorly when he gets lit up. He's not executing pitches and MLB hitters are expectedly taking advantage when he's off his game.
