Perez looked like a guy who was desperate tonight, it was great to watch. He went out there with all the talent he could muster and snagged a MLB gig. It is an extremely small sample but, with the way he looked tonight I don't expect him to go away without a fight either.
From that group I have it more in tiers, Meadows, Frazier > Smith, Shipley, Ball > McGuire, Peterson
I'd also be disappointed if the Jays don't go BPA at 1-10 but, if the overall draft strategy is sound I'll get over it.

Trade Izturis (or try and sneak him through waivers) for basically anything useful.
Who do you have ahead of Ball though? He certainly isn't my favourite of the projected pool of available players but, he isn't my least favourite either...
You get paid for your baseball knowledge? Who pays you, your mom? Is that how she justifies giving you allowance? Pro tip, if you want to get paid for your "baseball knowledge" (and be a pro!) I'd start by learning how to effectively communicate a thought.
Absolutely agree there. However if a player has a few good weeks, perhaps a month how would you describe it other than a hot streak? A luck streak? You can call it whatever you want but they certainly exist.
Amateur? How do I ascend the ranks to professional poster or do you mean professional e-arguer? Should I say things like LOL and epic? Perhaps I should start insulting people's intelligence at the drop of a pin, since that screams super cool, genius, e-thug and not massive inferiority complex, right?
If someone actually looked in to it I'm sure you could find some sort of relationship between the previous 5 games performance and the next game. I highly doubt it would be a strong relationship though and probably just proves that both samples suck. Additionally I think they point of the post was more "Lawrie is showing improvement this week" and people jumped to the 36 game sample which, is where my comment stemmed from.
Ya, I wouldn't bet on who is going to get hot/cold it's a very dubious undertaking. More to the point both sample are insignificant, 36 games is closer to significant than 3 but you really shouldn't draw conclusions from either.
They both are insignificant and will be misconstrued. However if you want to look at current trends, like an impending hot streak, the last 3 games is probably more useful than the last 36.
If you get rid of the spaces in the [ tweet], [ /tweet] it will embed nicely. Northof49 only included the spaces so that it would not embed and you could see the text.
It looks like there will definitely be a high upside guy that's slipped available to the Jays. I just hope AA goes BPA and not the safe route with another Blue Jays classic Romero/McGuire/Jenkins selection.
Obviously, it really depends on how JJ performs. Unless he is downright terrible/injured I'm sure someone will offer him a 3-4 year deal at the least though.
You;re forgetting this part of his statement;
"Even though he's not a very good offensive ss... I would rather find a way to get Adeiny Hechavarria back and have him at ss with Reyes at 2nd base and Kawasaki utility. I wonder who we would have to throw in with JPA to get Mathis and Hechavarria back?"
Right now I'd lean qualifying offer. JJ on another 1 year $14M deal would hardly be a bad thing and the comp pick/added draft money is more probably more valuable than what they can get in a trade if he signs elsewhere.
I can't believe that Frazier is projected to be selected out of the top 5. I'd love if the Jays could grab Frazier at #10, his elite bat speed is exactly what this system needs. It probably takes the BoSox selecting a pitcher and the Pirates taking McGuire.
Manaea is a Boras guy but, he hurt his hip not his shoulder or elbow. If it doesn't look to be chronic the Jays should at least be interested. If he's still around he is probably the BPA when the Jays on the clock.
