  1. I choose to believe that his middle name is pronounced "Edgy".
  2. Yeah, he was not a great player by our current understanding, but that's easily the most memorable moment in Jays history, and should absolutely be commemorated. For whatever good it will do, I signed the petition.
  3. That last profile of Brito makes him sound like a switch hitting Teoscar. There's potential value in that *IF* the "slick fielding SS" label is more accurate than the "barely passable 2B" one. (and that last profile is the only time I've seen mention of his 2017 broken leg as part of the reason why he repeated Rookie).
  4. I think much of that was with the assumption that he'd be a good mentor for Janssen, but the comments from up thread probably blow that out of the water a bit.
  5. You remembered to press record, right?
  6. Grichuk/Alford could take over for Pillar and likely put up numbers as good or better. We don't need someone to take over for Morales, just rotate guys through DH for 2019. You could probably run with Tellez if you got a really good return on Smoak, but you're right there, he's not going to be nearly as good.
  7. It's not useless, but it's not nearly as useful as you're making it out to be. A 115 wRC+ and 1.0 WAR last year from a defensively useless player isn't doing much for this team. Sure, better (and pricier) than Morales, but Luke Maile out WAR'd Encarnacion last year, so let's not pretend that he's still a great player...
  8. I'm still on team "Trade Pillar and throw Alford into the fire as the starting CF for 2019" My rationale there is that Pillar is terrible with the bat, and I can't see any difference between the two as black holes in the lineup (though Alford has upside in the bat that Pillar does not have) and at this point, Alford is probably as good (or at least in the neighbourhood) in CF as Pillar. I don't think we'll get anything of great value for Pillar, but he's really not needed on the 2019 Blue Jays, and we don't really lose much, if anything, by replacing him with Alford.
  9. Marty York discovered obscurity and the baseball community at large has never been happier.
  10. Maybe? I just think they'll be cautious with him and hold him back if he's not ready (which he's probably not...)
  11. I dunno, if he gets into 40 games this year I'd be shocked, and if he pitched a full inning in all of those I'd also be shocked. He's going to be a low leverage guy. I guess it's possible that if they see him as a future starter, he does multi-inning low leverage stints, but 30 innings seems plausible to me.
  12. 5.50 era 35 ip 40 k 33 bb 40 gb% But, I think he sticks with the team for the whole year.
  13. If it's the difference between a C and a C- prospect, does it really matter?
  14. The only one with even the slightest bit of value is Pillar. Martin and Morales probably aren't being moved (I'm okay with Martin sticking around, I'd like to see Morales jettisoned into the sun...) I hope Pillar gets moved, and I hope they just throw Alford into the fire in CF. Honestly, I don't think he'd be any worse with the bat than Pillar at worst, so what's the harm, he can clearly handle the position.
  15. SHATKINS SUCKS! THEY SHOULD HAVE SIGNED HARPER AND MACHADO, IT'S POINTLESS TO SIGN ANYONE BUT LITERALLY THE BEST PLAYERS OR THE GM SUCKS! - Sportsnet comment section right now, probably.
  16. I find some of your opinions questionable at best.
  17. Jesus Christ does fancredsports.com need to hire an editor.
  18. The 1B you're thinking of us Brett Walrus.
  19. We all grow goatees and just accept that this is the darkest timeline?
  20. So, we just get him to do the Radio Scouts podcast instead....
  21. Since we drafted him first, we get first dibs, right?
  22. Do you not think that Todd would be reluctant to reveal which one of the regulars around here runs that account?
  23. No. He's lost too much development time to be ready for 2019, shouldn't even be on the radar, even if he kills it in spring training. I'd say the earliest we possibly see him (and only if he has a crazy good year and hits at LEAST AA) would be September, and I'd say the odds of that are pretty slim. Lots of talent, lots to be excited about, but it would be pretty insane to expect him to be on the MLB roster next season.
  24. Hey man, I'll carve all the graven images I want!
  25. They're just making it up as the go along...
