  1. Well, Pannone has looked good, and SRF looked great yesterday... That's a bright spot from this series.
  2. I would assume so, I think he still has value as a player, but not with his current salary. He's the kinda guy I'd love to have on a minor league deal for next season, however... Stash him in AAA for emergencies.
  3. The Chyron guy is just asleep today... Balls and strikes have been off both the numbers and in the zone... He's still got Travis at 1st base... I know this is just running out the clock for the Jays, but there's no excuse for that kind of sloppiness from the TV crew!
  4. I mean, unless he cannot recover from this injury, but I'm pretty sure Shatkins have looked at the medicals and are comfortable that he'll recover normally...
  5. And that's how you become that kid's favourite player for life.
  6. This is close to banworthy around here...
  7. Cito is up there, so there's no argument to be made against putting Gibby up there.
  8. Angel Hernandez sucks balls, water is wet...
  9. I had no idea Pentecost was that good a CF!
  10. There's precedent for a Red Sox player wining MVP when they weren't even the best player on their team... Pedroia won the MVP when Youkilis was the better player... (and neither should have won that year anyway...)
  11. Really though? That's not always the case. I'm guessing we got more for Happ at the deadline than we would have gotten for him last offseason... Most teams don't know their exact needs until the season is underway, so you're not always going to get the best deals in the offseasn.
  12. Getting pocket aces is 100% luck. Hard hit line drives have an element of luck to them, but for the most part involve skill. Edit: Just to clarify, there's a chance I could get pocket aces in a poker game, I have actually several times in the past... There's just slightly above a 0% chance that I could get a hard hit line drive off of a major league baseball pitcher.
  13. There is no chance that Sanchez gets non-tendered unless his arm literally falls off in the off season... He might get $4-6M or so in arb, and if you really didn't want him (for some reason) you could easily move that kinda potential on that salary for something of value.
  14. If he's hitting a ridiculously high number of line drives over that period, it's the equivalent of a poker player getting a lot of pocket aces. Your winning percentage is going to look higher than it should, but it's because of what you brought to the table. Let's say you played a tournament where you got pocket aces 55% of the time, but you only won 46.4% of the hands, that would probably be pretty unlucky on your part.
  15. My money's on "won $10,000 playing poker" or something in that neighbourhood....
  16. If you're into the punkish stuff, these guys are my current fave local (Toronto) pop-punk-esque band. https://sixteenscandals.bandcamp.com/
  17. My biggest issue with Morales was the fact that a lot of our older guys could benefit with some time @ DH, and having Morales there limited the ability to do that. I mean, all of our older guys were hurt this year anyway, so it didn't matter too much, but if Tulo and Donaldson were both still alive, would have been nice to have that spot to rotate them through.
  18. Based on absolutely nothing, I'm calling Teoscar/Mckinney the next Reed Johnson/Frank Catalanotto platoon.
  19. Sure, you officially have my permission to do that w/o any royalties.
  20. I could see getting her confused with Dame Judy Dench...
  21. Settle down there, Solomon.
  22. You are correct, I revise my prediction to SRF's SECOND start.
  23. I'd like it on record that my predicted line was from Roy Halladay's debut, and none of you got the joke.
  24. 9ip, 1H, 1R, 1HR, 8K, 0BB, 95 pitches.
