  1. For anyone who also had a hell of a time figuring out why MLB.com decided to not link to their own video stream in any of the news or video sections, Here's the f***ing link.
  2. But where is link?
  3. People just assume that anyone can play 1B. I mean, he probably COULD, but he would probably be average at best.
  4. Giles and Stroman (and Sanchez but...) are under contract for next year, and at this point the thought around here appears to be "trade them for hitting prospects, then trade prospects for different pitchers who fit their moulds almost exactly..." Unless you know you can flip lesser prospects for better pitchers in the future, this seems like needlessly shuffling deck chairs.
  5. He played in 14 games then got HBP and broke his hand, there's pretty much no information on Bichette this year.
  6. So if we trade Stroman, Sanchez and Giles for elite hitting prospects, which in a vacuum would be great, where the f*** is our pitching going to come from? Pearson should be good to great, but we're relying super heavily on Thornton, Murphy, SRF, Borucki and like... Tepera and Paulino? Our pitching looks a LOT worse without Stroman and Giles, so their replacements would have to come from somewhere.
  7. It's a rebuilding year, one of the best thing that the Jays have going for them right now is that they have very few commitments on the books so they can spend on decent FAs and make trades to get guys with bigger contracts. Actually... Sorry, the BEST thing the Jays have going for them is their stocked as f*** farm system, the second best thing is how much payroll flexibility they have.
  8. David Price pitched in 16 games for the 2017 Red Sox. For $30M. He averaged 1.9 fWAR / season from 2017 to 2018 for a total of $60M That's not smart use of money.
  9. Honestly, I'm glad he didn't sign here, that's not a contract I would want. He's still a top pitcher, but the risks are WAY too extreme (and he's shown why in his BoSox tenure).
  10. Are we sure this ain't happening again?
  11. Dude, we're a long way from Bajor here. The Prophets can eat a spicy dick when it comes to Earth.
  12. AJ Burnett and BJ Ryan were given two of the highest contracts ever given to pitchers at the time.
  13. Dwight Smith is an inconsequential player, and Harold Ramirez was a free agent and he CHOSE not to sign with the Jays. They made him an offer that he refused.
  14. Yeah, but in Total Recall (original) lore, the Toronto Blue Jays lose to the Tokyo Samurais in the 2084 World Series. I'll trust Arnold over Avery Brooks, thank you very much!
  15. That should be an error on the stadium.
  16. f*** that shitbox of a stadium. f*** it until it crumbles from the thrusts.
  17. If he could ever cut down on his strikeouts, he could be. He's actually bumped his BB% up a bit this season in a small sample. He's got tonnes of power.
  18. At the time, the BJ Ryan and AJ Burnett deals were HUGE.
  19. Most guys that size are weeded out in high school...
  20. Trading Stroman is absolutely the wrong move. I could see trading Giles given the relative volatility of relievers (though he's top tier so less likely to fluctuate) but only for an A+ return. We do have to field a team next year and it would be nice if our "ace" wasn't Thornton.
  21. Wow, that looked super playable in RF.
  22. The beauty of small samples. Biggio started the game with a -100 wRC+. It is now 163
