The only defence ever put forward of the owners is "they're the ones that take all the risk if something goes badly!" now something is going badly and they're trying to absolve themselves of that risk.
Seriously, *IF* baseball resumes, even without fans, there will be players who get Covid-19. WILL, not might. If I was a player, particularly one who already had millions in the bank, I'd be telling teams "thanks, but no thanks, I'll wait 'til next year."
