  1. Well let's hope. I don't think we can take out Estrada though. Who do you replace? Hutch?
  2. Yeah there goes my W for Salazar. Although I care way more about the Jays implications of course.
  3. Still prefer Smoak but what a lineup. Really hope we can see Travis in there again as soon as possible though, then who could stop us?
  4. Do you think Minnesota fans know there is no way there team will make the playoffs?
  5. Again, pitchers already do that in MLB in the offseason. I am not arguing what should happen I am arguing what will happen. Based on how MLB teams usually handle these things, as well as Gibby's comments earlier this week on Fan590, indications are that he'd come back in the pen. You are right though, Stroman will probably do what he can to convince them otherwise.
  6. Lots of pitchers begin throwing before they get to spring training as well. He'd probably have 3 or 4 starts to build up his pitch count. Often it is more than that for pitchers. Not saying I necessarily agree with it, since I think most pitchers are babied too much, but that's how things work.
  7. If he is healthy and can avoid getting hurt and IF he is the same guy who prompted many articles about how his pitches are comparable to some of the best in baseball, then this could be huge. The only thing is that our pitchers are (surprisingly) firing on all cylinders lately, besides Hutch. I don't think I'd want Estrada out of the rotation. Prior to last year he was on a lot of people's sleeper list and didn't have the best year, but I believe he can stay a good pitcher. The Lind deal, of all the deals, migt have been one of the most important ones at this point.
  8. He seems decent at putting together a major league roster and AA is great at filling the minors with talent so it could be a good mix. I am just glad AA finally got out from the hot seat ad I think he is one of the bright minds of baseball.
  9. Besides the Yankees who are people most worried about? O's? Rays? Angels? Rangers? Twins? Anybody at all worried about Detroit or White sox or any of those teams further down? It really does feel like we have, for sure, a better team than any of those.
  10. He certainly didn't take the next step did he. Last I checked he was around 90 strikeouts in just over 300 AB which seems pretty unlike him.
  11. Wow. In the first inning a player for the Indians got picked off at first base with 1st and 3rd and no outs? That has to be about one of the dumbest things you could do.
  12. Travis has been one of the best second baseman in baseball and his stats seem to point towards him being able to sustain that. This shoulder injury is really a bummer, I love watching him play.
  13. I really like Revere for this team. Feel like his slow start has taken away a bit from how useful he can be. Will be really interesting next year what happens with Saunders and Pompey. I'm actually pretty shocked Pompey didn't get traded once we have Bautista , Pillar and Revere locked in.
  14. You're right about expanded rosters. Gibbons has already hinted he probably wouldn't be stretched out if he came back.
  15. The Stroman thing is exciting and all but with Hawkins and Lowe it is hard to find someone he'd replace in the bullpen. He almost surely won't be worked back in as a starter according to Gibbons. He is a great pitcher but there will be rust and I'd be pretty nervous using him in any key situation after all that time off.
  16. Dickey and Donaldson's comments look worse taken out of context. All the Blue Jays responded pretty diplomatically apart from possibly Donaldson saying he was "good hittin." Yost and Volquez just sound like idiots.
  17. Unless Martin has a lot of nagging injuries that we don't know about, then it is embarrassing how the Jays have used hum this year.
  18. Organization really can't tell Valencia is more useful both on the field and in the clubhouse than Bello?
  19. With most of our players tired up until 2017 or beyond it really seems we could (should) be floating Pompey out there.
  20. Sounds good. Now I guess Pompey 4th OFer OR one last big trade.
  21. Getting Revere if it isn't too expensive could free up Pompey to be moved for a pitcher.
