  1. Let's not kid ourselves though. Game was really lost when Stroman, who was looking really strong, got taken out at around 90 pitches because of a bloopers single.
  2. Last replay was as conclusive as conclusive gets. It was slow motion close up of the foot off the bag and the glove on the foot. This really makes no sense.
  3. I have a lot of confidence in Stroman tonight. A lot of times these high energy guys get all pumped up but then get rocked I don't see it with him. I see him just effing with the Rangers all day.
  4. Big things for me this game was lack of walks against a wild pitcher. This team needs to take the walks until the pitcher gets it in the zone. Seemed like they worked a lot of favorable counts and then got out on some not great pitches to swing at ( even though some of them were strikes). Team should be getting 3 or 4 walks against a guy lime Gallardo.
  5. I don't know but apparently ours slows the ball down.
  6. Are the Jays playing on turf? I never knew that until they mentioned it on every single Friggen play this game.
  7. These tests better come back okay. We can't lose Donaldson for the whole series.
  8. Bottom of the order has come through a lot this year. Need them here.
  9. Sooo... David Price has had a tough time in the playoffs.
  10. haha yep. This is worse but it is playoffs so fair trade.
  11. Let's hit like we have all year. Prove not only pitching can win in the playoffs.
  12. Most of the best records this year come from the NL as well as most of the worst. Only the As are close to 100 losses in the AL but many teams are in the NL. I'm sure it might be a bit of both, but do you guys lean towards the top teams in the NL just being that great, or the bad teams in the NL just being a lot worse than the bad AL teams.
  13. Could possibly make a good relief pitcher.
  14. Of course he'll say that. Any athlete with any class always say that individual accolades don't matter to them. Like I said, even if it doesn't matter now, I bet in the future he'll look back and think "I should've just pitched those 3 extra innings." Most posters here seem to have it right and agree with each other, let him go his next start and then get the rest out of relief once we've clinched. As for the bullpen idea for the playoffs, I really doubt when push comes to shove that anyone here would feel very comfortable with MB coming out of the bullpen in a tight ball game like you described.
  15. Buehrle seems to like to play things cool, like these things don't matter much. I think he would look back in 15 years and wish he had just pitched these couple extra innings. He got a quick hook even in some games he was doing well. If I was the manager I'd probably try and convince him to go out on the last day and get the 200 innings. With the wildcard games, days off and him being the 4th starter at best, he'd have lots of time to recover.
  16. Dumb. Clearly if you get players that all their ex teammates say are good guys and teammates your players will have a much higher chance of developing chemistry than with guys like Lind, Rasmus. Lawrie, Arencibia etc... I know the point you are trying to make, that even a lot of good guys might not all of a sudden become best friends, but that's like saying you can't trade for offense in the rare case that the guy might all of a sudden have a down year. It's a game of percentages, AA shifted towards their being a good chance the players would get along.
  17. AA outright has said this is a change to his philosophy after reflecting on his ti e so far. I agree with poster above thag anyone who played team sports should recognize that having teammates you like have help performance in a number of ways. Of course this philosophy only goes so far and we all know talent matters the most, but I still believe it helps. Plus it's fun for fans. I was so tired of cheering for guys I didn't like, lime Arencibia, Rasmus and Lawrie. I think the new teammates even helped Bautista to tone it down a bit which makes him more likeable.
  18. What was Price doing with that bat?
  19. Hope he can go 7 or 8 and give himself an outside chance at 200 in his last start, but Gibby has an early hook most of the year, especially now with MB's shoulder barking.
  20. Well done, but the other one is better.
  21. I don't trust Dickey but it'd be hard not to have him back on his salary. I also think Osuna should start. I like MB more so all of these decisions are really hard for me to figure out.
  22. Why would anybody give Estrada 16 million? He won't get more than ten from another team. I think people are really overestimating what his value around the league is. I bet you could sign him for around 2/17 if you wanted. Or you could go out and get someone else because there are guys like him seemingly available each year for much cheaper.
  23. I don't get how they keep missing the point.
