  1. He was a reliever early in his MiLB career and judging by the numbers an effective one. Seems like turning him into a starter was a failed experiment by the A's.
  2. Leon is out of options. He'd have to clear waivers to hit AAA. That might happen but I think the intent is for him to compete with Delaballs and Biagini for one of the last two bullpen spots.
  3. So you're just going to assume Travis is out for the entire season?
  4. Well he's certainly well travelled... His recent MiLB numbers were as a starter and they're not terrible though probably not very good once you make an age/level adjustment. You have to figure full time relief is his calling now and there might be something there. Had much better strikeout totals before they made him a starter. Seems like a decent guy to have competing for a spot (ideally with 1-2 other similar guys).
  5. Do you really think he would have posted that if he did? I appreciate you bringing the clarification even though you did it kind of snottily.
  6. It's apples to oranges though. It's practically impossible to know who is better when you have two excellent players at different level in their development. I know some people will always use the higher level as a tie breaker but I've always found that approach facile. Edit: Just read TCA's post which renders all of this invalid. Devers isn't even ahead of Espinoza anymore.
  7. Well my issue with this it isn't that AA has his strengths. He does. It's just that his best skill seemed to be his "soft skills". He really seemed like a good negotiator. Signed some guys like Alford and Norris for much less than people thought it would take, negotiated the Donaldson trade, really nailed it with EE's last two contracts. Those skills seem kind of wasted in a subsidiary role. Unless he's roping Tinnish in with him then I don't really see what AA brings to the table as a VP of Player Development and Scouting and heck even with Tinnish, he didn't have much of a record with position players, at times avoiding them altogether. I mean I know AA went to scout school and stuff but I don't really know anything about how common or valuable a scout school education is.
  8. I don't really see the argument though. They're the same age and Benintendi is just an offensive beast. I mean the argument against Benintendi was that he sort of came out of nowhere but then he goes to the minors and doesn't miss a beat and outhits everyone from his draft class. He should be the consensus #1.
  9. Benintendi above Moncada is pretty easy to justify.
  10. That's what... Oh Hell...
  11. That's what she said! (I'll show myself out.)
  12. Wait... did you or did you not get half the purse from Boxy?
  13. Oh well now I feel less bad about not splitting the money with him. I fronted the bet. Org wasn't into it.
  14. All I care about is that I walked away with the purse.
  15. http://thumbs.dreamstime.com/z/fisherman-riding-jumping-trout-fish-23000784.jpg
  16. It's just a comment on your spelling. It's rookie.
  17. Someone should have done a mash up with the Kang injury by now.
  18. Thanks for posting. That's a really solid list. Callis clearly put some thought into it.
  19. You can quibble over the rankings all day but these are all very interesting write-ups, a good piece. Everyone who does this exercise kind of runs into the same issue. It's Alford and then a handful of guys that you could throw into a hat followed by a whole swath of guys that you could throw into a bigger hat. My biggest quibble would be leaving off Borucki. I understand that he's a huge question mark at this point but I feel like in a thin system like this one, you can pretty easily justify ranking him even if it's based on what he did in 2014.
  20. The spot is filled but we need a list of candidate because future vacancies are expected.
