  1. Royals Designate Emilio Bonifacio For Assignment By Charlie Wilmoth [February 1 at 10:57am CST] The Royals have designated Emilio Bonifacio for assignment, according to a team release. The move clears space on the Royals' roster for Bruce Chen.
  2. I stopped reading after...
  3. The fact that AJ has played here probably helps us. I can see why moving to a new Country could be an issue for some players. I think once you play here though you realize it's not that different from alot of cities in the USA minus ESPN. Hopefully we can swing a move (Drew?) before going to Burnett and pitching the idea of playing on a contender for one final season. Hell...throw in a limo ride or two for his wife as well.
  4. Let's Go Bluejays. How bout that State of the Franchise tonight?
  5. I always thought the label "injury prone" was stupid for athletes. ....then i met Dustin McGowan.
  6. The 85 projected wins would take into account last years stats.
  7. My dream was replacing JP with more than a 0.5 fWar upgrade.
  8. Dream Scenario: AJ Burnett - 1 year 15 million. Trade: Shark for Sanchez, Nolin and Nay. Sign: Drew 3 years 33 million. Sign: Jeff Baker.
  9. Absolutely. But we're not the Astro's either. A 2nd base upgrade would provide the biggest boost in terms of Wins and if we can do that via Drew + add a pitcher it's not so crazy anymore if we stay relatively healthy. Saying that...i don't think Drew signs here.
  10. How are you so sure this is a non-contending year? If we trade for Shark, sign drew and pick up a suitable platoon for Lind (ie. Baker or Denorfia) Do you still feel the same? How many of us thought it was a non contending year for the Sox last year too?
  11. Drew would be sweet. I'm kind of leaning that this is just Boras trying to leak names like the Yankees and Bluejays to drive the price up for the Sox.
  12. Tirado at 76 is nice to see.
  13. So you're saying he would play SS for us? Reyes at 2nd would be exciting.
  14. Are you still looking for people? If it's for money i would be interested.
  15. On the MLB network one of the guys predicted that the Yankees would win "at least 100 games" with the Tanaka signing. Gave me a good laugh. Boston or Tampa should be the favourites
  16. Yeah....i didn't necessarily mean trade for him today. Just before spring training. I guess it all depends on what other teams are offering. You could justify to the fans a package around Sanchez. Arguably our top prospect who has #1 stuff that's in AA and close to be ready. He would fit nicely with the emerging talent with the likes of Baez, Bryant and Solar. I'm off to work though.
  17. Sure it does. 2 years of control = biggest haul. Shark said the Tanaka signing would make it more likely he's signs an extension. The Tanaka signing would have also expedited the rebuild which having shark around would be more of an asset. If they don't think they can sign him they may as well trade him at his peak value. Maybe It's wishful thinking on my part.
  18. Oh i know. That's why i pondered if Sanchez + Nolin would be enough. Certainly our arguable #1 prospect and another top 10 prospect would not be selling him off for nothing. I'm just curious to see if the Cubs are going to drop their asking price from Stro and Sanchez + to something more reasonable.
  19. Not only did i have Tanaka to the Dodgers.... I had the ripple effect of the Yankees signing both Jiminez and Santana. Not looking so good for me anymore.
  20. They did ask for both Sanchez and Stroman. This was before missing out on Tanaka. Tanaka surely would have expedited the rebuild process which I'm sure then the Cubs would want to hang onto shark unless they got an overpay - ie Stroman and Sanchez +. Now that Tanaka is gone I'm curious if the Cubs are more willing to deal him. They need some young pitching to emerge when their elite position prospects are emerging. We'll see..
  21. I'm curious to see if the Cubs missing out on Tanaka will drop the price in acquiring Shark. Shark has said that a Tanaka signing would help in convincing him sign a contract with the Cubs. Maybe Sanchez + Nolin get's it done. The Cubs are loaded in position player prospects and adding two pitching prospects might tempt them. Too much? http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/2014-top-10-prospects-chicago-cubs/
  22. If i had to guess i think it's likely that Sizemore was the guy AA was talking about when he referred to talking to a guy to be a bench piece who use to be a regular and was looking for more playing time to set him up the following year.
  23. We'll need AA around for the rebuild. Just maybe fire him when we're ready to "go for it"
