I hear you, it would be weird to see him in another uniform. But it's probably just too much ponying for my liking. The hope for an extension, as opposed to a free agent contract, is some amount of "home town discount" or "shared risk" or whatever euphemism you prefer. But it seems he's giving the Jays no quarter.
If he's not getting traded, at this point, they might as well play it out, let him walk, back up the truck for Tucker and possibly circle back to give Vladdy a quadrillion dollars after finishing second for Tucker. Or just don't and let some other team sign his disaster contract.
