    I never liked Dickey and hated the trade when it was made,but for the first time since he got here he looks like the pitcher they thought that they were getting.. Gotta give him credit..

    Smoak is a rally killer... and with Goins batting 7th it really restricts the offense....but of course there's Pillar.....tis a puzzlement..

    Smoak can't hit...he is a defensive replacement player.... when they have a lead colabello should be out... But in the fifth inning up 6 runs...the pitcher has to overcome an error like that..

    well, that's something I struggle with.....I'm still upset that the leafs traded the right to draft Niedemeyer for kurvers.. And the thought that had no trades been made, the starting rotation in a year or two could have been.... Syndergaard Sanchez Stroman Hoffman Norris Not to mention hutch, castro and osuna... Young and controllable for years ..... Now, I'm excited about this year and it's fun,but I know that I will suffer big time down the line if those guys develop as expected.

    Good question.....I don't get it.... And I just read on one of the phillies' boards that they expect D J Davis to be in the trade...don't know where that is coming from..just speculation..

    If Hutchison had been as bad at home as on the road that would have been a very bad sign....But the fact that at home he has been excellent tells me that his stuff is still there and there must be something going on besides ability...??

    If they named Castro you would think that if the others were top prospects they would have named them... at least I pray that's it..

    Maybe they do..but on this board we don't care,right? If someone can play ball, who cares where they come from?

    Reyes was getting worse defensively.....he was soon going to be so bad that they would have had to take him off short and maybe DH...and he has become a singles hitter....no doubles or triples anymore.... For me this is like the Clarkson trade...I can't believe that anyone would take him at 22 mil...assuming that other than casto no other top prospects go..it's hats off to AA.

    First article about him that I read after the trade, said that he was not as good defensively as Escobar but had a good arm.. Offensively it said that he was a triples machine and sparkplug....hmm..

    That's the problem......when (if) he gets healthy there is no reason to believe he won't be back at previous levels......at 32 he is in his prime..

    I don't think AA is that stupid. I think it all comes down to money , as in there isn't any. They got the increase 3 years ago and blew it and haven't spent since. And I will continue to believe that until they actually spend some..

    This pitching staff would be bad no matter who the manager was. On the other hand, no other major league team has hired gibbons to be their manager. So I guess that all the other gm's are stupid,right?

    You can do everything right...starting pitching....timely hitting...good set up man in the pen...but without a closer it may not mean a thing.....but the blue jays did nothing to get one.....unless there simply was no money in the budget..

    Cecil is a solid 8th inning guy...not a closer.....but there is no one else....
