Agreed. I do think ,though, that so far..Pompey looks over matched at this level. And this lineup,when Donaldson,EE,and Bautista are hitting, will score runs....but when not all 3 are healthy, they will struggle because the rest of the lineup aint all that..

I'm not an AA fan but the fact is that there was no money fro him to spend....so it was either this bunch of cheap, not ready for prime time players, or what? Cheap waiver wire types?

If you expect two 20 year old starters who have never pitched above A ball to be bullpen stalwarts then you are dreaming.....it's like lightening striking twice.. I just hope that neither of these outstanding prospects are ruined by this...and expecting 4 out saves from castro? Unbelievable.

With Bautista out, the jays are going to have to get something....anything...out of reyes..

I don't watch when dickey pitches....can't stand it...I just check here... When Reyes is up I change the channel...come back after he's made an out...

EE hasn't been close yet this year,just like last year and still has 4 homers. Should be interesting when he starts hitting with Donaldson and bautista...

Smoak,Thole,and Goins are all good (thole?) defensively but none of them can hit......smoak hit .200 last year and while players can and do, improve , it isn't likely. Say what you like about Navarro..he can hit.

Pillar is a baseball player.....what to do with Saunders? or does pillar play centre and pompey is defensive replacement? But pompey has to play....so..is a puzzlement..

I have never thought this team would contend this year,but look at the future.....Hutch,Stroman,Norris,Hoffman,sanchez,(if he gets to work on his command as a starter in AAA ) Castro, and Osuna... Could be a great staff for a decade..

AA has no money to spend so how can he help unless he panics and deals a top prospect.

Never seen anyone like Buehrle give up so many hard hit balls with so little damage....

Bautista and Donaldson will put up big numbers as well as EE...slow starts don't mean anything. They are the best 3-4-5 in baseball. Having said that, the rest of the lineup doesn't appear to be all that imposing ,at least to me. Martin is a great catcher but an average hitter...reyes is the last guy you want up with men on base..( pop-up anyone?). And the rest?? Travis looks good but otherwise?

Osuna throws 94-96 but a whole lot of pitchers throw that hard or harder. So is all the fuss they are making about him because of movement as well as velocity? or location,or what?

I see this as a development year for the blue jays. When you have 6 raw rookies especially in key positions,you can't realistically expect to contend unless the east is a total mess. But I don't care because it should be fun watching these kids play.

Mostly agree. Disagree about Sanchez and Osuna...Sanchez lack of command will elevate his ERA and Osuna will end up back in the minors to develop, where he belongs..

Both of those guys should be developing their skills in the minors. And probably the other young ones too. It's all about a desperate Gm..whom I don't blame because Rogers would not make the required money available.

Lawrie never got rid of that hitch in his swing and unless he does he will never hit ...Donaldson is a terrific player who should hit more homeruns at rogers centre....good start for AA..
