  1. Wonder if we could give RAD back to the Mets for only one of Noah or TDA.
  2. this post made me laugh
  3. More to the point, there are multiple teams that perceive the requirement for a Janssen. It's not like AA has to pick up the phone to Detroit and do the deal. AA would be shopping into a sellers market on him. GM's of teams like the Tigers and Cards (?) get hyper paranoid that they will pull a BoSox and lose 20 games to miss the playoffs, or that a national audience will see them cough up two late inning leads in the playoffs.
  4. Mauer: "I'm not going to swing at that sinker." -STRIKE
  5. Can we trade Janssen and simply move DM up into the closer spot?
  6. god Bautista is one of the worst base runners I've ever seen.
  7. Is trading international money the baseball equivalent to trading a draft pick?
  8. That's AA's declared plan. He feels that there was a market arbitrage opportunity with players that had trouble in other organizations - Escobar, Rasmus, etc. I've said it before, I'm not sure you can win a marathon 162 game season with a core of Latin players, for exactly the reasons you say. It's not a racist or bigoted statement, but rather an identification of different cultural norms. But when your clubhouse starts to get dominated by Loviste, media blowups, giggling at errors, showboating at shortstop (Escobar), arguing with the umps incessantly ("I'm passionate about my performance!"), then you get what we have.
  9. where is the pick we get for JJ?
  10. It's a good thing those guys don't come on this forum. Dirk and Zaunie are downright polite relative to how knowledgeable fans feel.
  11. Selling because you arent going to make it this year, but need a few tweaks is one thing. Selling to rebuild is another. Not all "selling" is the same. If we ditch JJ, and Oliver this year, that's not exactly folding the tents, but rather being optimistic for next year and the following year. I bet AA does a "mild" sell.
  12. Maybe the Jays should name Zaun as the catching coach.
  13. So what is JPA going to say if Jack Morris starts ripping him? "I don't take criticism from fringe hall-of-famers."
  14. This game summarizes the f***up that is the Toronto Blue Jays.
  15. What the hell? I go make some waffles and bacon, and come back and Wang has given up 6 already?
  16. yessir.
  17. The fact that the Jays can't beat AL East opponents consistently has been the problem to date, and will be the problem down the home stretch. I believe the 2-5 record in the past road trip to be a more valuable indicator than the 11-0 run previous to that.
  18. the point I'm trying to make (not well) is that JPA refuses to alter his approach.
  19. I agree with you, but you aren't going to get that with JPA. The only reason he HAS power is because he throws out plate discipline. If you go out there and swing at everything, as hard as you can, eventually you will run into one.
  20. Tell that to JPA.
  21. "You don't need good strike zone management, contact hitting, situational hitting, defense, and baseball IQ everywhere. But you can't have 4-5 positions without it."
