  1. I don't really ever cheer against my favorite teams. But I think now the train-wreck that is the Blue Jays is becoming so entertaining, that further losing is actually adding to my entertainment value. I mean, a complete and utter destruction of this team over the second half would be hilarious.
  2. You know who I am starting to get pissed with? Our pussy media. When was the last time one of the Jays got asked a hard question directly. "Gibby, you've got a guy that can steal...." you know the rest.
  3. There isn't even a player on the team that is likable, really. Even Dickey I find to be a wordy blowhard. He tries too hard.
  4. I can only assume by "there" he means Miami and New York?
  5. Zaun ripped on Bautista yesterday for a poor approach with runners at 3rd in a critical situation. This may also be the key. Clubhouse culture can impact how players approach highly critical situations, that when you add them up over a season won't change the aggregate numbers a lot, but contribute to a lot of wins. When your clubhouse leaders are guys like Longoria, and Zobrist, it has has a positive impact on the rest of the guys playing a team game. We have "JOEY BATS!!!" and lo viste's. And guys that swing and miss at pitches bounced 15 feet in front of home plate.
  6. Thanks for the quote, Captain Obvious.
  7. All I want is to be entertained. The team certainly isn't doing it on the field.
  8. Screw this. The JPA ripping on Hayhurst and Zaun situation was the most entertaining thing that his happened in this garbage-can of a season.
  9. Is there a single home run that JPA has hit that isn't a mistake pitch? Bautista and EE and good hitters can see a good pitch in the strike zone and crank it. But I think that JPA probably only hits mistake pitches. Am I right?
  10. The team should have spent money, not prospects last off-season. I know they spent money...but they should have spent more money and less prospect. In any case, I'm pretty sure when we look back the propects we gave up won't make our feelings that hurt...with the exception of Synder.
  11. The performance and attitude of the Blue Jays is analogous to the performance and attitude of Toronto. (I've lived in Toronto, amongst many other places, and I've been a huge Jays fan for decades). Saying "we are world series contenders" is like Toronto saying "we are a world class city". If it's true, you don't need to say it.
  12. All players are motivated by money to some degree. But I get the feeling that Rasmus isn't as much as most.
  13. I'm presuming somewhere in Venezuela or Cuba, they call their cocks "Romeros".
  14. Ultimately, the Dickey trade was: Playoffs: we broke even No Playoffs: bad trade
  15. this thread.....delivers.
  16. I was completely joking...but that didn't come through. Although it's pretty telling that the Mets wouldn't even give us one prospect equivalent to those guys.
  17. I will laugh my ass off if our piece of s*** catcher hits a bomb here.
  18. Trade Janssen and whatever for the best 3b/2b prospect available on a contender.
  19. The players know whats going on. They've checked out. If this team was in contention, you would probably see better play from the contingent of players from on particular Caribbean country.
