  1. Stroman is similar to Sanchez. He's never thrown a ton of innings either yet there's no talk of a limit with him. As you said, Dickey is a weak link as well. If they do acquire Hill they should keep Sanchez in the rotation and do something with one of those two. Probably put Dickey in the pen as the long man. The Dickey-Thole battery though kind of throws a wrinkle in that though.
  2. Logan is a FA at the end of the year as well. He'd be a nifty acquisition though. We could really use a reliable lefty.
  3. Kratz used to be solid but he's too old now.
  4. Maybe a rental reliever? But I doubt one that's very good.
  5. Don't let a couple of starts change your mind. Just means we have a little better leverage now. Extend Dickey!
  6. I know almost nothing about Dickerson but I fear him when he steps to the plate.
  7. Tabler will praise the move tomorrow because he's a "veteran who can pitch."
  8. It's Osuna at the top because he's clearly the best. Then Gibby ranks them in descending order starting with the oldest. Grilli is 39 and 8 months, Benoit just turned 39. So Grilli gets the 8th and Benoit gets the 7th.
  9. One negative aspect is that Gibby had quit using Storen but now he'll immediately throw Benoit in to high leverage situations just because he can.
  10. Yes a comic book. And yeah it's Batman villains who are coerced to team up and do good for the government.
  11. Upton over Bautista/Saunders is about the equivalent of replacing an average CF with Kevin Kiermaier.
  12. Well I read that he was on the verge of being traded. Perhaps as early as tomorrow. But him starting probably means they don't really like their offers right now.
  13. You've had a lot of caffeine today.
  14. I'm a little surprised that the Padres are letting Cashner go through with this start.
  15. From what I've read on Twitter Gibby's plan is to play him against lefties every time. He'll also give Saunders and Bautista days off at DH by putting Upton and EE in the field together. And Upton likely plays pretty much everyday as a pinch runner or defensive replacement as well according to Gibby. He's like a win to a win and a half improvement on defense over Bautista or Saunders so I'd prefer he just play everyday but if they want to stroke Smoak by playing him once in a while it's whatever. At least he won't see lefties anymore. Zeke is pretty much redundant at this point. I guess he can be the poor man's Upton but buried further on the bench. He can pinch run for one of the slow guys and in some circumstances if Upton is already in the game and could pinch hit/defensive replacement if necessary. He's out of options though I think and he has no trade value. Would be nice if they could trade him to an NL team who views him as a 4th or 5th OF who has 3 years of control and would be willing to give up a rental RP for him.
  16. What the f***. lol That's like an easily-identified troll post that we see from new accounts on here about once or twice a month.
  17. From what Atkins is saying they make it sound like Upton will be a 4th OF. We'll have to see how it shakes out though.
  18. Yeah I don't mind him when used like that.
  19. Well if we fleece them for Cashner as bad as we did for Upton why not?
  20. Yeah but maybe their offers are s*** right now and they figure if he has a good game they can move him for something.
  21. We need bullpen help badly IMO. I trust 2 guys out of our 8 right now.
