  1. I think we play 30 games in the first 31 days or something like that. Going to have to rest some of these guys.
  2. Not sure. I assume just a day of rest. Jays play a ton of games with just one off day to start the season and he's had some nagging injuries over the years.
  3. Yeah the lineup was going to be ugly no matter what with no Hernandez and Chapman sitting out but Tilapia batting 5th makes it look even worse. At least Heinamen isn't playing.
  4. You two need to cool it. I have no qualms with either of you but I'm the sheriff of this board and if you want to continue posting here in peace I suggest you stay out of it. Final warning!
  5. All I've said over the past week is that maybe Greg Bird isn't very good (true), Raimel Tilapia has a weak arm (true), and that maybe, just maybe, Ross Stripling isn't going to ruin Jackie Robinson Day after all (he'll probably get shelled but it has nothing to do with Jackie Robinson). If that's considered trolling then everyone go ahead and put me on ignore! We all know you'll be back, my posts are grade A entertainment and I don't even charge for them!
  6. I was pretty outraged at the thought of AAA fodder like Ross Stripling starting on Jackie Robinson Day. What an abomination. The guy is total crap, the Jays would have to be racists to do something like that. I think I even heard that Stripling was a January 6th insurrectionist. I almost canceled my MLB.tv package and deleted my account when I heard he was taking the hill. That said, think about who we are playing and it will start to make more sense. The Oakland A's bat the great Tony Kemp at leadoff. Mr. Kemp is an African-American gentleman and I can think of no better way to honor Jackie Robinson than by having Ross Stripling pump 88 mph fastballs down the can for Tony Kemp. He's only good for about 8 homers a year but if he's going to hit one on Jackie Robinson Day it's definitely going to be against a gas can like Ross Stripling. Classy move by the Jays IMO.
  7. Same. I think he might be really really good. His sinker is a worm killer and his slider is basically the opposite in that it induces a lot of weak contact high in the air. Then you've got his 87 mph fastball which is his put away pitch lol.
  8. Sadly I think the creators of the website died in an apartment fire as the sheer number of "Buck's Blunder's" overloaded their makeshift server which exploded and caught fire.
  9. Grichuk was a negative asset. Even if Tilapia ends up sucking ass (and he probably will) we can just cut bait with him (get it!?) and we'll save money on Grichuk's deal which is about all we could have hope for in a trade involving him anyway.
  10. Yankees broadcasters are the worst. Huge homers but not in a cheerleader way, more like a whining and bitching way.
  11. Nice rip by Tilapia but unfortunately he's 6'3'' and 110 pounds so an oppo homer is out of the question.
  12. good grief that was either a foul tip or strike 3
  13. Probably going to DH a lot still. Plus he's fat.
  14. The problem with that plan is that Ross Stripling sucks
  15. He's always been really hellbent on not delaying service time when it's such a no-brainer to do so. I think he's gotten into it with me on Twitter before as well. I actually met him at the winter meetings like 12 years ago when I tried to get a job in a front office. I went up to him and introduced myself and he gave me some resume advice for a couple of minutes before shooing me off which was nice of him (this was before I witnessed John Farrell engaging in an affair). So I had a positive exchange with him but his online persona is really unbearable.
  16. He really did. The dude knows it all. Baseball, cooking, left-wing identity politics, etc. He's a modern day renaissance man.
  17. So what can he do to adjust? Try to spray the ball to increase AVG, at the expense of power? Seems like he actually tried that in 2021. His Pull % went from Gallo-esque numbers in '19 and '20 to almost 33/33/33 in '21. Should he just go back to trying to pull the ball a ton again and live with the results?
  18. It seems like the new ball has killed Biggio as much as anything. A good BB% with a high launch angle can thrive with a live ball, even with a mediocre batted ball profile. See Gleyber Torres who has a similar profile and he looked like a Hall of Famer. Deaden the ball and these guys take massive hits to their numbers.
