    The moral of the story being...if you're only going to win 88 games, make sure you lose a bunch to s***** teams like Tampa but win your season series against other fringy playoff teams close to you in the standings.

    This is exactly my thoughts. The good thing about Liriano is that when he's off or on, it's usually determined early on. So if he walks the bases loaded in the second inning they can bring on Stroman with hopefully minimal damage. But with his September performance and especially the last two games my money would be on him getting 6+ with 2 runs given up or less.

    What's wrong with you guys? No Liriano in the conversation? He's been killing it in September since being put back into the rotation.

    That Detroit game is going to be a clusterf*** of emotions. If the Jays are winning, cheer for the Tigers (in hopes of a O's-Tigers tie). If the Jays are losing, cheer for Detroit to lose.

    It's almost like they think they are in the NFL. Hmmm....two road games, or one home game with the first round of playoffs being a bye. Easy choice! No Buck, it doesn't work like that.

    TLDR conclusion is: O's front office is either very stupid, or they don't believe their team can win in Toronto. It's just so funny. I hope Buck Showalter played a hand in this. Manager of the year really adding value.

    Unless of course the people who made that decision calculated such a low percentage chance of winning in Toronto they figured that was the best way. If I was one of the players I'd be pissed. It's a slap in the face to them.

    Time to troll the O's hangout board with how scared the team is to head back to Toronto EDIT: It's saying something though. "We lack such confidence that we would beat the Blue Jays in Toronto that we would rather concede that game and rest our players and play at home instead" At least, that's how I hope the Orioles players view this decision made by the front office.

    BTW f*** you Boston for putting out Price tomorrow. Could have saved him for Cleveland, whether the game is there or at Fenway.

    I'd prefer Liriano. He's been throwing fire recently and has the experience. They can put him in the BP after that game since I think they'll badly need him there.

    Now that the Jays won, I don't mind seeing Seattle come back...I'm on a confidence high right now.

    You go on and on as if there aren't about 20 other teams that aren't in worse shape - both present and future. Strong attendance. Strong brand. Decent sized payroll with the possibility of an increase. Payroll flexibility next year with a solid if unspectacular rotation and all scarce positions on the diamond next year filled. A middling farm system that has improved substantially since Shapiro took over. Front office hires that suggest Shapiro is desirable to work for. No, no, no. Give me the f***ing Rays or Angels to cheer for instead. Yeah ok so the Cubs, Red Sox and Dodgers have done a few things right recently. Tell that to the other 26 teams.

    Hey dilweed, There's a difference, a huge f***ing difference, between wanting a pitcher who was killing it the whole night - no runs given up scattered 6 hits and had 10K in 6+ innings - to continue to pitch that night in a game with a small lead when the BP has been shaky recently and wanting a pitcher to pitch into the 8th after pitching just ok - 3 runs and 3K in 7 IP. Besides, did you not see the score? It doesn't matter if Stroman gave up one run or ten tonight since the Jays treated a pitcher who hasn't been any good in three years like he was Nolan Ryan. I can't stand it when dummies try to get all smug and smart with me.
